Welcome to Fixya. If every disk shows you an error you can try to use a cd lens cleaner and see if it will fix the issue. If this does not work it only means that lens or the laser of the DVD is bad. In thast case you can check the warranty of the system so that you can have it check and repair for free.

Hi, these Fisher Price toys are quite well made, however even so the quality of the electronics isn't too good, and usually these units either fail in the area of the power supply, and as soon a a "Load" is placed upon it, say attempting to "Play" it "Overloads" and shuts down. Now it is either this or the DVD head and laser assembly have faulted, usually a thing called the quadrant detector fails in one of the four corners and stops the device from working.

I doubt that this will be an economic repair, as parts and labor would most likely equal or exceed the cost of a new one?

However if you do wish it repaired usually one must send it back to FP, BTW they are very reasonable in these repairs too. First you must contact them and ask what where and when, and go from there.

Please clean your lens. If still fail, replace the lens with new one.

sorry that definately means that the battery is defective if it is still under warranty i would advice returning it please make payment as soon as possible thank you also if you need help finding a battery i would be happy to help

• When did you purchase this item?

If the date of purchase is within 1 year, you should call Fisher Price's customer service directly (1-800-747-8697). The number is toll-free and they are open everyday from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. (Central Time)
If you are, then call them... I know for a fact that in cases like these, they are normally very good with these issues, and will offer you a no hassle refund.

• Also, what is the exact issue are you having?

This is important for me to know, just because I have successfully repaired two of these devices. One repair was to fix the issue with failing to read the disc properly, and the other was a battery/power supply issue. If the problem you are having with this device does not match either of these, then please be quite detailed about the troubles you are having.

I have found the PDF instructions for the same model but it is blue. I think the color is the only difference. Try the instructions and see if they are what you need. Mattel Support DVD player Blue. There are three PDF files for this DVD player see all three.

I'm not sure which light you are referring to but my daughters dvd player blinks on the side right by the brightness controls when it is charging.

The line can be caused by a defective LCD display or by a faulty control board, I should really see a picture to tell you.

If the unit is not functional, then the problem is a faulty control board. If the unit is functional but does not read disks, then the lens or the spindle motor are faulty. In that case attempt cleaning the lens with a cleaner disk.

This units are not worth reparing, since their price is usually over the repair cost. Try contacting Fisher Price and get a quote on repair. Their policy is usually offering a replacement for a reduced cost.

Put the batteries back in and aim the front ot the remote at the front facing selfie camera on a smartphone. Press a button and you should see a flash. If no flash, the remote has failed. If there is a flash, the television IR module or main board has failed.
