The tv power supply board it is dead.That the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Please make sure lamp cover is fixed properly as it was removed to replace/ check lamp in tv.
If lamp cover is not fixed, tv will not turn On and red light will blink 3 times.

sadly your light engine has failed and the blue will continue to get worse.
The light engine is the projector in the TV. Sony actually calls it the OPTICAL ENGINE.
it cannot be fixed, it must be replaced. its expensive.
If you an extended warranty you are in luck.
without a warranty, the cost is about $800
You could try contacting Sony to see if they would help...you have a 50/50 chance of success of getting the part covered.

3 times red light flashing indicates that lamp cover has not been fixed correctly in tv after lamp replacement. Please make sure lamp cover is fixed securely after lamp replacement.

U know how to solders?U have dead capacitors,puff up or burst open.Change these capacitors in the power board,well get ur power bacck.Or buy and replaced whole refurbish power board at Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com

Contact Sony. You need optical block replaced. Class action .Sony may cover this.

3 times red light blinks shows that Lamp Cover is Open. Please put back lamp cover properly.
I would recommend to always replace with Original Sony Lamp and avoid aftermarket or compatible lamps.

Hi,
Please count flashes on Sony KDF-E42A10 tv and let me know.
Its error signal and shows problem with particular area in your tv.

I have never seen the thermal fuse replacement not fix this problem. What is the part number that you put in the set? Do you know how to use a meter? After you replaced the thermal sensor did the set try to come on at all? or was it the same exact problem as before?
