Don't turn it up but turn it down. I have mine set at 61 degrees, the point is that you want it to get cooler not warmer. Sometimes I have it set at 68.

You may have a dirty condensor coil its the coil near where the warm air blows out or maybe a dirty evaporator coil its where the air gets sucked in check both of them and then see whats the air temp going into the evaporator and the temp. coming out of the vents that blow cold air the diffrence should be about 15 - 20 deg f let me know what the temps are ...but first clean the filter and both coils

SOURCE: unit not blowing cold air

you have a slow leak in your refrigerant and need to find the leak. you will have to get an AC repairman to come to your house and check it for leaks and fix the problem.

Unit Freezing up and normal causes have been eliminated.

if it is always set on high,it never gets a chance to cycle,it is too small for the area that you want cooled, turn the thermostat to 5 and see if it helps,it will get the room cooler, but,a little slower.

Fujitsu heatpump 13 years old is not heating room as it used to.filters are clean.i have gauges and would like to know what pressures are good and what pressures indicate low refrigerant or worn...

The refrigerant and compressor are related in cooling the room.As for heating problem the thermostat needs to be checked.
if you're used to a certain temperature of air and your heat pump is producing much cooler air, take the following steps. (Note that a heat pump may go into a defrost mode to prevent icing. When this happens, it can temporarily output cold air. Also be aware that the heat pump will have to work harder to produce heat.)

1) First be sure the thermostat is set properly. Try raising the set temperature 5 degrees F. and waiting a few minutes.

2) Be sure the room-heating registers are open.

3) Check the heat pump filter. If it's dirty, change it.

4) Be sure the auxiliary heating elements are working .

5) Clean the coils of the outdoor condensing unit.
If still the same problem then thermostat needs to be checked and replaced.
Thanks.

Improper Termperature Readings during AC run

personally i'd just replace the thermostat, but try pulling the front panel off and look on the circuit board and see if there is a jumper for F/C or any other settings. you may try changing its position. you can also remove the batteries for 15 minutes and see if it resets itself. the only other thing it could be is a wiring issue.
