Panasonic Phones are on mute and will not work

I have a phone set KX -TGA560B with three portable phones and a base station -- one of the units uses the base station as a station. All of the lines are muted and we cannot get them off mute. The phone line is still active as we can make calls using a old had set. You can dial but it will not ring through to a cell phone. I cannot locate an operating manual.

The following is generic for most cordless phones:

Did you check to make sure that the phone is not in the intercom mode? If this phone has a base station speaker phone, make sure it is not on mute. Some of these phones have a fax connection. Make sure your phone line is not accidently pluged in to the fax section. Also if the phone has a fax monitoring feature check the the setup menu that the fax is not enabled. If the phone has an answering machine mode, make sure that this feature is turned off.

In the worse case:
There may be a defect in the X-Mit section of the phone. I would suspect the fault to be in the base.

How to open battery opening on Panasonic KX TGA560b

Look at the back of the KX-TGA560B handset. You should see a notch. Press down firmly on the notch on the battery cover side and slide the cover towards the bottom of the handset.

This is shown on page 3 in the handset manual which is available on the product page: http://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/KX-TGA560B.html . The direct link to the manual is ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/accessory/phone_fax/om/kx-tga560_mul_om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have a KX-TG6700 base station and 4 Handsets. When I have been calling on the handsets I have recently found that there is static on the line. Later I realized that there is problem with the DTMF being...

The KX-TG6700 manual at: http://www.panasonic.ca/PDP/OperatingInstructions/kxtg6700-oi-eng.pdfhttp://www.panasonic.ca/PDP/OperatingInstructions/kxtg6700-oi-eng.pdf

States:

For best performance
Base unit location/avoiding noise
The base unit and other compatible
Panasonic units use radio waves to
communicate with each other.
For maximum distance and noise-free
operation, we recommend the following:
LPlacing the product away from electrical
appliances.
LPlacing the base unit in a HIGH and
CENTRAL location with no obstructions
such as walls.
LRaising the antennas vertically.
LIf you use the handset near a microwave
oven which is being used, noise may be
heard. Move away from the microwave
oven and closer to the base unit.
LIf you use the handset near another
cordless phone’s base unit, noise may
be heard. Move away from the other
cordless phone’s base unit and closer to
your base unit.

Have you considered all these points?

Is there a way you can move the base station to another location in your house to see if the problem get better? I don't beleive your base station is faulty, I suspect interference from something.

I don't think the 2.4GHz set is causing any issues, but you never know, try unplugged it for a while to investigate.

If you do determine that the base station is faulty there probably isn't many options to get it repair other than sending it to Panasonic. May be cheaper to buy a new base station to go with your extra handsets.

Good Luck!

Changing from pulse to tone panasonic phone

Touch the following keys: Menu 0 5 1 and then select 1 (tone, the factory default) or 2. Then Save (a softkey with the label in the LCD screen) and Off (opposite Talk on the keypad).

The manual for the Panasonic KX-TG5664 is available from Panasonic here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG5664.PDF . See page 17 for setting the Dialing mode.

I hope this helps.

Panasonic KX-TGA711E

this sounds like you are either out of range of the base unit or your base station isnt plugged into the mains, ensure you have the base station plugged into the power and the phone line from the wall socket is plugged in, the base station controls all the handsets, if it isnt plugged in they wont work, good luck
