Most computers have a bios you access (I see you know how to get there on yours) which allows you to choose options. Being as your bios sees the new card you should be able to either select it as default, or you should be able to click (or unclick) the onboard somewhere. This model looks to be a server, so there are several pages you might have to look through to find it. My server is a HP and it takes forever to makes changes like you are trying to do. Your video card is a 16meg, which should be fine for a server. Most often you don't use a monitor on a server anyhow, they are accessed remotely. But if you still want to change the video card, the following link gives you basic information: https://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=AN&subtype=CA&htmlfid=872/ENUSAG05-0436&appname=USN

SOURCE: video controller disabling

That model server comes with onboard video. If you wish to use a PCI video card then all you have to do is place it in the server and the BIOS will automatically disable the onboard. If it currently has a PCI video card in it, just remove the PCI card and you should get the onboard video again. Hope this helps.

This should be the problem with the drivers and BIOS setting,
You can disable the current Onboard video driver by booting up your computer in safe mode and then install the drivers in safe mode. Load your BIOS setting to default and then try to install your PCI video card.
This is a type of work arround and this may help you.

No matter on Windows 7 64-bit OS. WOW technique is available on windows from VISTA, so the issue is not with OS.

I know this is really old, but I had the same problem on my 206m 8584 with a pci-e x1 video card. I had to upgrade bios first, but nothing seemed to change, bios only showed onboard video as option and windows perfectly recognized the exta card. I went to windows video settings, it showed both video, onboard as main and active and extra as inactive, changed the second video to main and active and switched the plug to finally see my enhanced video. Only problem is that bios screen won't show up on pci-e card, so I start seeing something only after one minute :) Hopes this saves someone else some time.

Video not working on 755Twins-hdtv motherboard.

The option to disable the onboard graphics is in the BIOS.
You need a PCI-express card. You should not be trying to fit any graphics cards into the PCI slot.
The VGA/HDTV conection should have been supplied on a seperate card.

Problem with onboard video of a compaq sr2032x

The onboard video card is actually set to secondary when you plug in a PCI or PCI-E video card. If no video image is showing then there may be further damage inside the mother board.

Pc powers up but no video on screen gateway 420gr desktop

Yes generally speaking when you drop in a videocard it typically will disable the built on one. You may have to disable it though. I know you said you did not see the onboard video in BIOS but there is almost always a setting in there to turn it off.

Need help disableing onboard video, and installing PCIe video card.

Hi rebelel1271, I do have the manual for you're Intel motherboard. You can have it as well. Click on the link below to download you're manual. document.write("D101GGC Product Documentation & Manuals") D101GGC Product Documentation & Manuals
Intel states you do not need to make any bios changes when you add a PCI-Express video card. See this on page 17, PCI and PCI Express Auto Configuration. Before installing you're PCI-E video card, open windows controll panel. Than open add/remove programs. Look for the driver software for you're onboard ATI Radeon X200. Uninstall that software. (If listed). Close all opened windows & shut down windows. Unplug the power cord from the PC. Open the case. Install you're new ATI Radeon X800 PCI-E video card. Double check all internal connections, (In case you may have bumped loose any cables). You're X800 may also have a 3-pin or 4-pin male power connector built on the card. If so, plug power to the X800.

A little information. Once you're PCI-E has been installed. You're system memory will increase.

Good Luck!

HOW TO DISABLE MY ONBOARD GRAPHIC CARD??

For user BIOS21 & julio1963,

Enter you're bios. Open you're user manual to page 3-13. Integrated Peripherals. Go to, Init display first. Set to AGP.
(Not to PCI). That is all you need to change. The MSI bios will than see you're add in AGP card & automatically disable the PCI S3 graphics, (Onboard) card.

Enjoy!

How to disable onboard/integrated video in bios

I would suggest attempting to configure it through windows. Go start, control panel, display and set the secondary output which should be your pci card to display the primary screen. If that does not work I would suggest going onto the hp website and searching for further assistance.
