In case of your Lenovo laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

go to bios and reset password and select remove password

download and burn "hirens bootcd" then boot from it and look for menu entries re bios, try restting it but be wary of using this very powerful suite of programs if you get it wrong you could lose everything.

when you start your laptop then

go to bios setting and

remove your hd password

open the back cover and locate the CMOS battery remove the battery and insert again to reset the BIOS password...
