Hi Claude. If your spa jets appear to be pulsating or pausing, first check to make sure your filter isnot clogged. If your filter appears to be okay, you should next take a look at your hot tub's water level. If there is too little water, air could be working its way into the system through the jets.
Fill the tub until the jets are covered by 2-3 inches of hot water. Add 2 Tablespoons of a low-suds liquid dish wash soap and 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Run the tub with the solution to clean the jets. You can also use bleach instead of vinegar.
The 5500 Neptune washer and all predecessors are accessed from the front. by removing the 2 hinge screws, and the opposite 2 screws. The front goal post panel can then be removed, then the door can be lifted off. Maytag made a 1 piece tub and a removable front tub cover. Once the tub cover is removed by pulling all the tension clips you can remove the stainless spin basket one of 2 ways, either remove all 3 of the basket tumblers, then the 3 basket bolts, then the basket can be removed leaving the spinner support behind, or you can remove the rear panel, then the main pulley, then tap out shaft with a 2X4, this will remove the basket and spinner support together. You have not described the nature of your leak. Pleazer Appliance...
There are two main items to check. I do not recommend them unless you are qualified to work with electrical. The 2 main things that this could be are:
1. Pressure switch failure( (hot tubs need a sensor to tell the computer when it is safe to operate. If the pressure switch is out, then it will not heat) if this is a hot tub with a 24 hour circulation pump, then the pressure switch would actually be a flow switch.
Fix: Replace pressure switch/ flow switch
2. Heater element failure. (This type of failure typically trips a GFCI breaker)
if the heater element is out, then it will short to ground causing the hot tub to shut down repeatedly.
Notes: Are there any trouble codes coming up on the display panel? these help out greatly when troubleshooting like this via- messages
When Working with Household Electricity you want to always keep in mind that the BLACK wire ALWAYS carries DEATH. What I mean by this is that working with a Single Phase Circuit (one that uses 120VAC) the only wire that should be carrying a voltage is the BLACK one, the other 2 wires (typically the White Neutral and Green Ground) should both be electrically connected to Earth Ground (usually by being attached to your water pipe.)
It is also possible that your hot tub may use more than 20 Amps.
it is because the tub has a temp control valve in it so if you were to put more cold with the hot it will last longer but still won't be all the way hot,, now a days people are suing the manifacture because they are getting burned form the hot water so they put these saftey temp controls in place of the old style 2 or 3 handle faucets,, there fo no more real hot water nothing you can do outside of change to the othere type of faucet 2 or 3 handle tub shower diverter,, that why the water is hot in the sink but not the tub.....
The foam in there is available at most insulation or drywall supply houses. It is used for insulating concrete walls, the cover is probably 3 inches thick so you may have to buy 2 sheets to get the thickness you want. The only issue is the cost of the foam may not be much less than a new cover.
The only product I know of which will do what you ask is an item called Plast-Aid Acrylic and PVC repair kit. Google it and you will find the website. It is about $20. and it works like a charm. good luck
