FYI - The DVD/VCR Setup menu button is the same, so make sure you're in VCR mode when pressing the button and you'll get the proper menu. You can just push the DVD/VCR button and you'll know your in VCR mode when the old school tape counter is on the top of the screen.

Does timer 15071 automatically adjust for changing daylight length in addition to adjusting for daylight savings time?

GE 15071 sold at Home Depot and on-line has feature that adjusts for daylight savings time.
GE 15086 does not offer automatic adjustment for DST
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15071

Daylight savings time (DST) is not same as dawn-to-dusk astronomical timer.
GE 15071 and 15086 single-pole timers do not have dawn to dusk astronomical feature.

For single-pole dusk-dawn astronomical with DST, Lowes sells Utilitec-0192773
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

For 3-way switching, 7-day DST -or- dawn-dusk astronomical:

Change the time on the magellan roadmate 1212?

I was in same situation with a magellan roadmate 1212. From what I can tell, the "daylight savings" is not what many of us may be accustomed to... that is, that it means that the location you are at follows daylight savings as happens with Windows or many other devices.

I bet those in Arizona never had a problem becuase they don't follow time zone... let me explain....

The daylight savings seems to state "are we currently under daylight savings time?" if we say yes (as you would normally state in your Windows computer setting (that would determine when daylight starts and stops and adjust pc time accordingly), the magellan 1212 instead will "ADD" one hour to the time stated by the Satellites regardless on whether it is summer ... or not.

So, if you happen to live in a time zone that follows "daylight savings" and you currently are under "daylight savings" time, then set it so in the "time zone".

So, there are two things you have to do:

/menu/user options/system settings/time zone/

1)Set your time zone
2)If currently under Set/unset the daylight savings set button to yes and manually move to no when not on DLS.

The explanation I found in MagellanGPS website is below, but never mentions what is the meaning (I should say effect) of the "daylight savings" button checkmark.

Magellan GPS receivers are not able to set the Time manually. In order to have the correct time set on your Magellan GPS receiver, you must set the proper time zone you are located in (ie Pacific, Central or Eastern). Once the time zone is set the exact hour and minute will display as information is received from the satellites. The following information will assist you on setting the time zone on your Magellan GPS. For Outdoor Triton series 200, 300, 400, 500, 1500 and 2000
  1. From the map screen press Menu and select View
  2. Select profiles and press Enter
  3. Select hiking and press Enter
  4. Press the Page/Go To key once and scroll down to select time zone
  5. Press Enter to select your time zone and Enter again to confirm.
  6. Press ESC repeatedly until you return to the map screen.
Note: Make sure Daylight Savings is adjusted accordingly. For Vehicle Navigation series Maestro and RoadMate 1200-1430
  1. From the map screen select Menu
  2. Select User Options
  3. Select System Settings
  4. Select Time Zone
Note: Make sure Daylight Savings is adjusted accordingly

Turning daylight saving time OFF

If DST is *already* set to "on" when you reset the time zone to Z-07 (Hawaii), my very recent experience is that the time *still gets adjusted back* by one hour.  Now that daylight savings time is over (at least according to the clock's pre-programmed and outdated schedule) I'm hoping that setting the time zone to Z-07 (Hawaii) will completely cancel the automatic time changes from now on.  Otherwise, I need to purchase another clock, and it won't be a Timex.
