Alpine CDA-7873 (Same as CDA-7876 basically)

The unit was tested at a local electronics repair shop and at a major retailer for head units, and it was found to work fine, but after I installed it only the radio tuner would work on it. I only hooked it up with the amplified output to my stock speakers on my 2000 Chevy Imapla LS. The CD player and the AUX input (for which I bought the AI-NET/AUX cable) do not emit sound through the amplified output. I hooked up a speaker to the amp pre-outs and it was outputting the sound through those. What could be the problem with this?. The radio sounds awesome on it. The CD Player and the AUX input show sound is being input on the display on the EQ, but nothing comes out of the amplified outputs, only the pre-outs for the amps.

I've tried every option I could find in the instruction manual but nothing seems to work.

Sorry about that. I'm not using an amp. I just meant I hooked up the unit to my stock speaker using a GMCO (the wiring harness kit for my car). The unit ouputs sound through the amp pre-outs but I'm not using those (I tested it with a random speaker from my house) . Only the radio tuner outputs sound on my stock speakers which are hooked up on the normal outputs from the head unit.

I need to remove my head unit in order to install RCA wires & to run a remote wire for my amp. When I had it installed they did not give me the key back. How can I remove the head unit without the key?

Unfortunately you can't without taking the factory trim panel off. I would go to a local shop that sells Alpine. They might have spare keys that they can give you. Or, they might take it out for you. Just tell them what you're doing, and ask them to pull the deck out so that you can wire the RCAs.

How do i get my Alpine CDA 9885 head unit out to fit a sub???

Remove the face, and trimring plastic.
There are slots on either side that you put the Alpine unlocking keys into (came with your headunit new) then slide the chassis out.
If you don't have keys - you can use a small allen wrench - or buy them at best buy etc.
A local alpine dealer will probably let you borrow his keys as a good business practice.

No sound from my 9855 alpine

There is an option in the unit itself to turn off the internal amplifier. If you push the 'menu' button, then go to the setup/settings menu, and then i believe it was under the 'general settings' tab. there's a option called INT IC or something. Make sure that is turned on.

Alpine head unit CDA-9855R

Yes, I'm sure Alpine will sell you another face but there is still the option of repairing the broken face at a good repair shop. Of course getting a new face is the easiest (read most expensive) way to get you going again.
