Water keeps getting into my bearing.

I have a Neptune FAV6800AWW. Water keeps getting into my bearing. I have the washer that does not have the upper bearing. This bearing is only 4 months old and there was a considerable amount of water in the bearing. What could be my problem?

I feel you have a Tub Seal leak.

Did you replace the Clutch Pulley or a repair service?

You are talking about the Clutch Pulley One-Way Roller Clutch bearing in the white bearring plate correct? The First two digits of your serial number are 12 thru 17. What are the first two digits of your serial number?

To replace the Tub Seal you need to remove the spinner assembly. That means you have to remove the outer tub. A bigger job but several on this forum have completed it including myself two weeks ago on a Series 10 FAV6800A.

I will point you to a link most recently where a form member replaced Outer tub bearings on his Series 15. If your wash basket spins up to 850 rpm with no Outer Tub bearing noise I would just do a tub seal replacement this round.

You would need the Tub seal see Sears Parts Direct. I would also pick up the Tranny O-ring seal (series 10) .

Some links on Outer Tub Bearing replacement.

If you replace the tub seal make sure you remove this sleeve that will more than likely stay on the Spinner Support when you remove. See Page 49 of the Service Manual. Here is a real world pic of the sleeve on the Spinner Assembly.

Leaking at bottom of washer after it spins out not alot of water but a pain in the ****, how do you get in to the back of the washer?

The FAV6800A and FAV9800A only have access thru the front panel and washer top once released fromt the base......no rear or side access. See Pick of Outer Tub removed for Tub Seal and bearing replacement.

Google ""16022808.pdf"" to find the Service Manual.

Page 33 will show ou how to release the top cover and page 41 for front cover removal.

If you have wash water leaking down on the Clutch Pulley I feel you have a Tub Seal leak. The issues could be related to the drain hose/drain pump or cracked outer tub.

I don't troubleshoot on this forum to difficult to carry on thread. Google ""Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW"" or ""FAV6800A/FAV9800A Outer Tub bearing replacement"". Two DIY forums I frequent that I feel are true DIY forums.

Have Neptune FAV6800AWW top load, washes when it gets to the rinse cycle it stops with water in. If we remove the clothes and wait a while we can get it to complete. The code we are getting is DR which...

Are you sure the error code is DR? Could it be DC an unbalance error code. Google ""16022808.pdf"" to find. Is the washer banging around in Spin Cycle? If so this is a Clutch Pulley issue.

Google this ""Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW"" a forum where I help owners of the FAV6800A and FAV9800A machines.

DR is not a listed error code in the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual.

Maytag neptune tl top loader is stuck on 23 minutes and just keeps going back and forth. There are no error messages. and water is sitting in it. Any ideas?

don't visit this site very often and I don't want to troubleshoot FAV6800A or FAV9800A issues here.

I have two DIY sites that I try to provide owners support as a knowledgeable owner.

You problem is related to a Clutch Issue. Google these keywords ""[FIXED] Maytag neptune FAV6800aww wont spin""

It's a long post it was difficult for me to pull accurate info from the owner for the issue. Fo him the Upper One-Way bearing on his machine was seized. All of these machines are ready after 6 years + of operation are ready for a Outer Tub rebuild. It's a few hundred dollars to do if you have to replace the Clutch Pulley as part of the process.

But one step at a time read the thread [FIXED] Maytag neptune FAV6800aww wont spin and see if this is a DIY project for you. It

GETTING DC ERROR CODE WITH A GRINDING SOUND AND THEN IT STOPS COMPLETELY

The DC error code is 9 time out of 10 caused by a Clutch Pulley malfunction. The grinding may ne Outer Tub Bearings but need more info. Open the Washer Lid. Spin the wash basket CCW. Do you hear and grinding noise?

The noise may be coming from under neath the tumblers. Further troubleshooting is required.

My washer starts and after about 5 minutes gives out... i get an nf code... anyone dealt with this

That's a No Fill error code. Is there any water flowing into your machine?

May be a block in the in the Water Inlet Valve. If it was false I feel you would have to break out the mop for flood/over fill condition. Did you try to fill with a mix like Warm/Warm selction?

If you want to troubleshoot further go to a real DIY forum.

Maytag Neptune TL clutch problems- Class Action Lawsuit??

I sounds like this is a common problem with the Maytag Neptune TL after about 3-5 years. Mine finally went out yesterday after several months of bearings getting louder all of the time. It looks like the bearings and the controller are gone. What happened to washing machines that last 15 - 20 years?
