For 34 Short Paper error, reseat the tray guides and make sure it is set properly. Also, set the correct settings in the computer. For blank pages, always double-check the paper settings and again the settings in the computer. For not printing black, print the Print Quality page and see what color is not printed or not showing. If Print Quality shows black, try printing any document from any application in the computer. Check if you still have the problem. If problem is not resolved, leave a comment so I can get back to this.

Error message reads "34 short paper". What does this code mean and what can I do to correct it? Thanks

This error means that the type of paper that is configured in the printer is different from the one you have chosen in your computer to send for printing. Make sure that the paper size is the same in both places the computer program you are using and the printer. For example if I have a Letter size word document that I want to print but the printer has A4 configured then I will get the 34 short paper error but If I change the paper in the printer and the setting to letter size then everything should print fine.

Lexmark C510 is making grinding noises while printing large jobs

I found another posting stating that the culprit was the black toner cartridge. Sure enough I changed our black cartridge and the grinding noise has stopped. No wonder the grinding noise was not happening all the time only when the black cartridge got low. Thanks for the help!

34 short paper

The printer does not auto detect your paper size and so when your Legal size document was printed on Letter size paper, you get a 34 Short Paper message.

Printing Blank Pages

Try checking the ink cartridges and make sure they have ink in them or it will keep printing blank pages. Then try printing a test page by going to control panel, clicking on printers and faxes and right clicking on your printer and going to properties. Then go all the way down to the bottom of the page and click print test page. It will clean the printer cartridges and align them to print correctly. It should work after that.

34 incorrect media

34 Incorrect Media message appears if the printer has detected a mismatch between the type of media requested by the user and the type of media actually loaded in the paper tray.

To attempt a resolution for this issue, please do the following:
  1. Press the green GO button on the printer operator panel. Printing will resume, but the printer must go through a POR (Power On Reset) in order to clear the message.
NOTE: The printer does not automatically reprint the page that generated the error message.
  2. Verify that the media you are using is supported by your printer in terms of size, weight, and input source.
  3. Using the printer operator panel, verify that the type of media loaded in the paper tray matches the Paper Type setting in the Paper Menu. Detailed instructions for navigating through the printer menus and changing the media type setting are provided in the C510 User's Guide.
    • If the media type setting is incorrect and cannot be changed, there may be an issue with the media type sensor. Proceed to step 5.
  4. Using the printer's operator panel, verify that the paper loaded in the paper tray is the size listed under Paper Size in the Paper Menu. Detailed instructions for navigating through the printer menus and changing the paper size setting are provided in the C510 User's Guide.
    • If the paper size changes to an incorrect setting or cannot be changed, it is likely that the paper size guides in either the 250-sheet or the 530-sheet paper tray are not set correctly. Remove the media from the tray and verify the location of the media guides.
  5. Power the printer off and then back on again.
  6. Resend the print job to the printer.
  7. If the error persists, you will need to contact Lexmark Technical Support for assistance. Please obtain the printer serial number before contacting Lexmark. If possible, call from near the printer as this will allow for the most accurate possible diagnosis.
Hope this will help you please let me know if it worked and don't forget to vote..
Cheers
