Hi Spencer, I found Lexmark's web and they have a ton of info. I narrowed it down to the user manual and on page 84 and 85 it has the paper quality troubleshooting: http://publications.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/c510/eng/userref.pdf best wishes.

1. Make sure the printer is on. 2. Raise the scanner unit. 3. Remove both print cartridges. 4. Make sure the cartridge carrier lids are closed. 5. Close the scanner unit. 6. Press to turn the printer off. 7. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet. 8. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

The code listing I ran across says that's a replace fuser.
How old is the printer. and how many pages have run through it?

Try to use your search procedures to locate or "find" your printer. See if there is an exception to cartridges and change it.

Does the error it shows have a code number, such as "995" or similar?

I agree - the guides inside the paper feed tray must be EXACTLY aligned with the paper size. This fixed my problem.
