I'm sorry, I read the question wrong. Hopefully this answer will make more sense:

Yes, you can use your old manual lenses with the D700. Not all features may work, however. If the lens didn't have autofocus before, it won't with the D700 either. If the lens has an aperture ring, you have to set it to the smallest aperture (the largest f/number) and lock it if it has a lock. Use the command dials on the camera to adjust the aperture.

What does flashing F or in Nikon D700 control panel indicate?

When there is a capital F, and in front of it is a triangle, it means there is no lens in or a non CPU lens.
If you did install a very old lens, or a lens from an other brand, the camera can't use the autofocus and picture settings. You only can use these lenses in manual. That means not only the focus has to be set manual, but all other things like time and aperture.

I have an old interchangable lense from a Nikon camera that I used to use with film. My question is does the lense Sigma DL zoom 75-300 mm 1:4-5.6, fit or work on any of the digital camera today?

Yes. It will fit and work on every current Nikon digital camera. It will act longer, like a 125-450mm on the smaller sensor bodies (everything except the D700 and the D3 series). It will act like a 75-300mm on the D700 and the D3. It also won't autofocus on some of the low-end bodies, such as the D3000, which require the lens to have an internal focus motor.

I want to go digital will my lens fit on a digital camera if yes what model camera should i get

Any of your lenses will fit on any Nikon digital SLR camera. However, there are several things to consider.

Most Nikon digital SLRs have a sensor smaller than a frame of 35mm film. This means that your lenses will give the same angle of view as a lens with a focal length 1.5 times longer. For example, your 50mm lens will give the same angle of view as a 75mm lens would. This applies to all Nikon dSLRs except the D700 and D3 series.

If the lens does not have the electronics to communicate with the camera, some dSLRs will not be able to meter with them. Of the current models, the D7000, D300s, D700, and D3 series will work.

Most old autofocus lenses will not autofocus on some dSLRs. Unless the lens is designated "AF-S" they will not autofocus on the D3000, D3100, and the older D40, D40x, and D60.

I have my old lenes for my nikon f3 camera. can i use this lenes in any dslr cameras?

Yes. Almost every Nikon lens will fit on the current DSLRs. Most lenses of that vintage won't autofocus, of course. Also, they probably will not meter on Nikon cameras with an even number of digits after the D, like the D80 or D5000, and will require you to shoot in manual mode.

Also, most Nikon DSLRs have a sensor that is smaller than a frame of 35mm film. This means that only the central portion of the image area is used, in effect making each lens seem longer. A 200mm lens on a DSLR will give you about the same image that a 300mm lens would give you on a 35mm camera, for example. This lens multiplier does not apply to the D3 family and the D700.

I do have old Nikon lens manual 1.2/50 mm,want to use it with modern digital SLR-which one can be used with, where I can get converter?

No converter needed. The lens will fit on every Nikon dSLR ever made. However, there are two things to keep in mind. One, most dSLRs have a sensor smaller than a frame of 35mm film. Thus, the camera only captures the central portion of the image, effectively giving you the same field of view as a 75mm lens instead of a 50mm lens. This applies to every camera except the D700 and the D3 family.

Two, this lens will shut off the meter on most dSLRs. You'll need the D700, D300 family, or the D3 family to be able to use the camera meter with this lens.

Nikon d700 error message

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the lens with alchoho and a cotton swab? The DX lens will have to tell the camera that it's not a full frame lens, and that happens through those contacts.

Post a comment if that won't work and we can go into more troubleshooting.
