SOURCE: LG LD-2160 dishwasher

Get an aqua vac and suck out the water (with the dissolved detergent)from the salt container. Refill it with water and repeat the process couple of times. Fill the container with water and salt and it should be fine. Good luck !!

Where do I put salt.

Your question about Dishwashers "Where do I put salt" is quite myterious. I never heared about need to put salt in dishwashers. In any case, please specify the model and make of your dishwasher or other device which needs to add salt to get it working, and maybe someone might help to get a downloadable version or give you a clue how to get your manual.

What to do if your Dishwasher isn't cleaning well...

Check the following when experiencing poor cleaning results:

- Dispenser (Where you put the Dishwasher Tablet or Powder)
Make sure that the flap holding the powder in is not loose.
Make sure it is dry before ever putting in powder.

- Dispenser (Flap Type)
To check if it is still opening for the Spray Arms (Spray Arms need to throw water on the Powdered contents to wash the dishes) - Put the Dishwasher in a cycle, and halfway through the cycle, open the door. if it has not opened then maybe the solenoid/actuator needs to be replaced.

- Program Selector (Not the component, the function selected)
More time consuming programs are more likely to wash more effectively, try selecting these with a higher heat setting instead of your usual programs like quick wash etc..

- Machine overloaded.
Make sure the baskets are not overloaded with dishes, mugs & glasses as this can make spray arms find it more difficult to clean between them

- Soap
In tests regarding powder vs. 3 in 1 tablets like "finish", it has been shown that powder gets dissolved much better, this is because the 3 in 1 tablets are designed to disintegrate on certain heating phases of only a select few brands of Dishwashers. So if you are unsure, or experiencing undissolved tablet - Use powdered dishwasher soap instead.

- Salt container
Refill the Salt container every 3 - 4 months depending on how frequent you use the dishwasher

- Spray arms
These can often be clogged with dirty water etc. clean these with toothpicks and pressured water.

- Filter
Clean these every time after a wash, usually found at the bottom of the dishwasher where water drains away.

- Over the counter products
These can be bought at Appliance spare outlets or even at some supermarkets. Use these as the directions indicate.

- Element (Last step if not improved)
Replacing a element is usually a last option, if no improvement was experienced by doing all of the above it could be that the element is not heating at the right temperature, or not heating at all.
Either replace this yourself (with various degrees of difficulty depending to the Make and model) or get a qualified service technician to do it with you.

Hope this helps :-)

Do you need to put salt in the dishwasher. If using tablets detergent ...where to put it ?

A lot of dishwashers do not have salt dispensers. If it does, the salt is added to a container which has a lid on the base (floor) on the inside under the bottom basket. Unscrew the lid and add the salt. Use normal pool salt. It is the same as "special dishwasher salt" that you pay a lot for. When full, the salt will last for 12 to 18 months. Most machines that have a salt container, also have a warning light on the panel to let you know it needs refilling. Dishwasher tablets do not add salt to the machine. Make sure you wipe up any salt that you may have spilt on the base of the machine, it will stain or rust the cabinet.

I want to know where to put my dishwasher tablet in my Kenwood KDW4TTSL please. And where does the salt go and how much do I use?

Im presuming that you don't have a manual. If you would like one, you can download a free PDF from here:
http://dl.owneriq.net/4/4e71b4c9-e100-4066-a29e-9c46abc1f5cf.pdf

According to the manual:

There is a recess on the right hand side of the door for detergent (Picture on page 6 of the manual). You can put a tablet in here.

With regard to salt (Also on page 6):

1. Unscrew the cap from the salt container

anticlockwise, which is located on the right side of the

inner box.

2. Load the salt into the container. Each time you may load 250g of salt, which can be used for 15

cycles.

3. Fill the water into the salt container until a small amount of water comes out(it is very important

when you use it for the first time).

4. Screw the cap back carefully.

Note:

1. Load the salt before the beginning of wash cycle so as to prevent corrosion.

2. Load the salt when the salt indicator light in the control panel is illuminated.

3. Only use dishwasher salt.

White film on glasses. Cannot find solution,

Check water quality. clean the drain filter in the machine. Check spray arm spray jet holes. Clean if clogged.

If you suspect salt chamber try removing all the salt by flushing with water externally. Refill with fresh salt.

Have lost my manual. Cannot remember when putting in the dishwasher salt, should the cap be showing the red spot? Not sure at what point you put in the salt? Thanks for your help

Not sure if you are referring to the dishwasher detergent or the rinse-aid.

The two items are mentioned on pages 13 and 14 of the user guide for GU2400 model.

Hope this helps. Cannot find any mention of salts or cap red spot.

How do u clean the pump and drain hose on a teka dishwasher? please help

buy Finish dishwasher cleaning kit from the super market and follow the instructions on how to use it. The cleaning kit should be run with empty dishwasher.

THis should help clean the pump and drain hose.

It would help if you mention the model number of your dishwasher. It is hard to get an english manual for Teka.

I tried this site

http://instructionsmanuals.com/lista2-20-49-en-Dishwashers-Teka.htm
but they all seem to be in European languages.
