42" Toshiba Plasma TV no picture or sound

I have a Toshiba 42HP83P with no picture or sound. When you try to turn it on you can here it "click" and the power light turns RED but still no picture or sound. If I hit the power button again the tv waits about 3 seconds and turns itself off; ie. no more light and another "click". Any ideas what may be wrong?
A repair shop has said they could fix it for around $300. Could this be something fairly simple I could fix myself? I have a Toshiba 42HP83P with no picture or sound.
