I have a mortar mixing bit stuck in my drill and the chuck will not release. When i try to run the drill in reverse to remove the bit the chuck will stay stationary but the grip does not loosen

Reverse and Forward Mode: Try putting the drill in reverse mode and hit the trigger, then forward mode. If that doesn't work, tap the tip on the driveway but don't slam it. It should release .
Use a Wrench: First, make sure that the chuck is in the locked position. Next, use an allen wrench to loosen the set screw on the side of the chuck. Finally, unscrew the drill bit from the chuck .
Remove Chuck Collar: Use a wrench or pliers to loosen the chuck collar and remove it from the chuck. Then, use a screwdriver or other tool to remove the chuck jaws and any other components that may be blocking access to the stuck drill bit. Once these components are removed, you should be able to access the drill bit and remove it from the chuck .

Try two channel lock pliers. Hold the bit close the the base with one. Take the other (cloth comes in handy here to prevent marring) and turn the chuck counter clockwise to release.
Alternative (little WD40 on the chuck) One channel lock plier hold the chuck and put the drill in reverse. The WD40 should allow the chuck to release easier.
if you trap the chuck in a bench vice or alike and then use the drill in reverse in short bursts until it loosens a good spray with wd40 will also aid the situation
Try using the low torque setting on the drill when reversing and something to assist you getting a better grip to hold the chuck from spinning when reversing. This may help.
