How can change user name and password in router D-Link?

Reading this question, I'm thinking that you want to change the SSID, this is the name that shows up when searching for wireless connection. First, you must find out what is your gateway, this is the main IP address. It usually is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Once you have that information, you need to log in the router, to log in, open a browser and type the gateway (Ex. http://192.168.0.1) A new window will pop up asking for a log in information. The most common default log in info are:
Username Password

admin admin
root 1234
admin password

Once you had successfully log in, take a look at what you have in front of you. There must be a tab name Wireless, click it. Look for SSID and change it to what you want to name it. Security should be in the same path, if not, save your work and log in again, but since you already change the SSID, you must search for the wireless connection again, and input the password, log in again.
If security is within wireless, then just head over to password and change it. You can also change the encryption type, I recommend WPA 2 personal. Once everything is all set up with the new SSID and the new password, click Save.
Search for the new SSID or router with your computer and input your new password once found by the computer./ Good luck.

TL-WR641G/TL-WR642G parental lock

This router doesn't support parental controls, however it does have domain filtering which lets you block specific domains. To log into your router.
  • Open a command prompt.
  • Start, type CMD and press enter
  • Type ipconfig
  • Note the "Default Gateway", this is your routers address.
  • Type this address into a web browser address bar. (Ex: 192.168.0.1)
  • Log into your router, enter any username and/or password.
  • If you never configured one and it asks its probably one of the following. (admin/admin, admin/password) You can also google your model + default login and you should find it's default)
  • Once logged in go to the security > domain filter

Here is the routers user guide if you need more info. Feel free to comment back if you need further help.

Can't log into 192.168.0.1

The article I read suggested 192.168.100.1

admin (no capitals)
motorola (no capitals)

And no need to get your breathing rates high in case you have changed the username/ password of Motorola SBG900 and forgot them, as you can just reset the Motorola SBG900 router by press-and-hold the reset button with a straightened paperclip for about 15 seconds.

I am trying to set a wireless connection to a new laptop I have the Belkin router and for now using a cord, but it ask for a security network number and I've tried ever number on the bottom of the...

To get your wirless password (wep or wpa key) you can log-in to your router by typing in 192.168.2.1 in your address bar (Where you would type www.google.com)

After that you should a a page that resembles the one below:
logicaldemen_3.jpg

Click the Security button on the side under wireless.

Next you will get a log-in page the password should be blank unless someone else set up the router.

Now you will see a page like the one below:
logicaldemen_4.jpg

un-check the Obscure PSK box and that will show you the password needed to connect to wireless.

Hope this helps.

Received Nintendo DSiXL for a Christmas gift. Having trouble connecting to the internet. Asking for a security Key? ?

Under nintendo settings internet connection, scan for hot spot and unless your wireless router is unsecured you need to provide the wep security key or change the settings. Your security key is the 12-13 character password used to setup the wireless router if you secured it. If you do not have a router and your picking up a signal you will not be able to log on without the key.

I have a new laptop computer and am wondering how I log on to internet as it is asking for my access/security code?

I assume you are connecting thru wireless or wifi. If its asking for the security code then you have to know the security password for the SSID on that wifi router. Many Wifi routers have security passwords before you can access the internet. If you are connecting to your wireless router then just disbale the security password but will be disadvantageous because other people can connect to your router. Just ask the person for the password who initially setup your wireless router.

When i try to connect to a secured wireless connection my laptop asks for a device ownership password, that is either printed or labeled on the device. i cannot find where this password is?

The password is not a preprinted password, it is a security password on your router. You need to log into the router and check your wireless security to see what you have used. If wireless security password is blank (use wap personal security), enter a password and then use the same for your computer when asked.

Please leave feedback if this solves your problem, otherwise send more information about your problem.
