The "Favorites" menu keeps popping up automatically

Do a hard reset to this set, and check. If it do not help you, make sure that the main system control memory IC to this set is faulty and should be replaced. Contact any service technician.
There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. I HAVE FOUND THE ANSWER!!!! I just bought an TCL TV last night and was given the wrong remote. Screen was stuck on "no media" screen BUT I noticed that when I turn the tv on and keep pressing the menu button, the menu screen would pop up for a half second before the no media screen popped up again. So I knew it was able to access it. SO, it took a few try's and with no exact method I turned the tv on, waited til I saw the TCL logo and then simultaneously pressed the menu and channel up button repeatedly. It will open the menu for you and allow you to move between the input channels!!!! It WILL take a few tries to catch it but it worked!!! Your welcome!!!!

With the TV in standby, press the {INFO} {MENU} {MUTE} {POWER} buttons on the remote.
The TV will turn On with the Service Menu displayed.
Press the {POWER} button to exit the Service Menu.

Use the {CH+} {CH -} buttons to select items.

That's your remote, not the TV. Your Remote button is hanging. Try a Phillips universal remote replacement and see if that problem doesn't go byebye.

Isolate the problem by removing the batteries from the remote. If the problem goes away replace the remote: "CHEAP" .
If the problem does not go away, the problem is in the TV, repair the TV "EXPENSIVE" !

The most commom causes are One. There ia a stuck button on the tv itself. The Menu button. The membrane switch or the TACT switch is bad and needs to be replaced. The Main bd can also be bad.

It has to reset everything.then try remote,when it starts to work,set new pin code.use your instruction book,to set all blocks to N,,Clear all favorite channels + erase channels in tv 's memory if there in there yet,takes a lot of time.it will keep resetting,remote won't work.let it run awhile. then push exit, hold 5 to 10 seconds remote will eventually come back,check your settings reset them, be sure menu is set to STOP, it may start running threw all its modes again,let run couple hrs, then push exit 5 to 10 seconds to get your remote back.keep trying this. when you think the tv is working right,turn it off for 10 seconds then back on. If it starts resetting, let it run an hr,then push exit again to get your remote back,it has to reset everything,keep trying, took me 3DAYS to get it right!!!!!!!!! the only thing I don't have working is the pic size button,Don't need that anyway. Is this a plasma TV ? If so remove the back cover of tv and unplug the cable that plugs into the IR board from the SSB that receives the signal from the remote. If it stops you panel is causing interference with the signal. If it doesn't your problem is in you SSB. you might see if there is a software upgrade offered by the producer of that TV.

your remote has an defect to verify it take out the batrries from out teh remote and see what the tv do.if you still have the problem replace the eeprom it could be defected.good luck
