Sounds like the outlet pump is blocked for this you need to power off the appliance and unplug either remove one side of the dishwasher or tilt back and see if you can get under where the outlet pipe comes from you will see a white pump there should be a metal screwclip holding the outlet hose onto the pump remove this then look inside the hole to check for the blockage normaly rice or fat if you can remove it with a coathanger then all is good if not your going to have to remove the pump and take the side off 3 screws be carefull of the rubber seal then give it a good clean also check the feeder pipe to the pump for any blockage. Also after this remove the filter inside the dishwasher and check there is nothing blocking the small hole to the outlet pump.

My GE Triton dishwasher won't drain. How do I de-clog it?

Remove the dishwasher drain line from the under sink connection. Direct that end to a bucket and run the drain option on the dishwasher.

1. Does water drains to the bucket. Then your under sink hook up to the dishwasher is clogged. Clean it with a screw driver.

2. No drain water comes to the bucket then

2.1 When on drain do you hear a humming noise. If yes then your drain motor working. That means mostly your dishwasher drain line clogged.

2.2 If humming noise is like a fan (impeller) running then drain line clogged.

2.3 If humming noise is like a small struggling to run. Then something stuck in the drain motor impeller.

Dishwasher will not drain I think it:s the pump

It will help if you provide the make and model of dishwasher. There can be several reasons for dishwasher not draining. The most common is blocked filters or drain hose. Also ensure the kitchen side of drain is clear. If pump is running but making grinding sounds then something is blocking the drain pump. If you do not hear pump running sound then the dishwasher may not even be getting to the drain cycle for other reasons.

For Miele Dishwasher G2470SCVI Need help with remaining water in the bottom. Model# G2470 SCV1 SF Type-HG03. Runs through the entire cycle, long, short ect..everything is clean and dishes look great but

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Belt, Water Pump Although few dishwashers have a water pump belt, if the dishwasher won't drain there might be a worn or broken water pump belt. After removing the lower kick panel the motor can be seen in the front, the water pump belt is on the bottom of the motor.

Drain Pump If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain pump might be defective. Test the pump motor with an Ohm meter. Drain pumps are not repairable, if it's defective it will need to be replaced.

Drain Impeller The drain impeller is attached to the pump and pushes the water out of the dishwasher, through the drain tube and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain impeller might be broken or worn out. Replace both the impeller and seal at the same time.

Drain Solenoid Kit If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain solenoid kit might need to be replaced. The drain solenoid is an actuator that opens a flap to allow the water to drain.
Drain Valve The drain valve can get clogged with debris and should be cleaned out if the dishwasher won't drain. If it seems clear of debris but won't actuate, it will need to be replaced. The drain valve is not repairable.
Pump and Motor Assembly If the dishwasher won't drain, the pump and motor assembly might be defective. If the motor runs during the drain cycle, check for a blockage in the drain line. If the motor won't run during the drain cycle or if it just hums when it should be running, the pump and motor assembly might need to be replaced.

Clogged or Improperly Installed Garbage Disposer If the dishwasher won't drain and the garbage disposer was installed recently, the installer might have forgotten to knock out the drain plug from this disposer. All garbage disposers are sold with a solid plug in the drain tube for situations where a dishwasher isn't connected. However, if the dishwasher is connected, the plug will need to be removed. If the disposer wasn't replaced recently, remove the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer and clean out both the fitting on the disposer and the end of the drain hose. These are the most common places to find an obstruction if the dishwasher won't drain.

Drain Hose If the dishwasher won't drain the drain hose might be clogged. Remove the drain hose from both the dishwasher and the sink drain to clean it out. The most common place for an obstruction is at the garbage disposer.

Check Valve If the dishwasher won't drain the check valve might be stuck closed. The check valve is a small plastic device which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the valve gets stuck closed, it will prevent the water from draining. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher
Check Ball If the dishwasher won't drain the check ball might be stuck. The check ball is a small plastic ball in the check valve which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the ball gets stuck, it will prevent the water from draining also. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher.

How to remove waste hose from machine?

1 Turn off the circuit breaker that controls the dishwasher.
2 Open the dishwasher door. Locate the two small screws holding the bottom valance trim piece. Remove the screws and the valance, revealing the lower pump assembly and drain-hose connection.
3 Remove the hose clamp. Disconnect the drain line by pulling the hose.
4 Find the other end of the drain line under the sink; it is connected to the drain tail piece or the garbage disposal. Remove the hose clamp and disconnect the drain line. The dishwasher drain hose is now disconnected at both ends.
5 Pull the dishwasher drain hose into the sink base through the hole between the dishwasher and the sink base.
6 Take the dishwasher drain hose outside or to a wash sink. Run hot water through the line to clean and unclog it. When you see water running freely through the hose, then it is clean. If the hose cannot be cleaned, replace it with a new drain hose of the same size and length.
7 Feed the clean dishwasher drain hose back to its original configuration. Reconnect both hose clamps. Reinstall the valance, turn on the circuit breaker and test-run the dishwasher.

Kenmore dishwasher 16029 does not drain

There probably is something in the pump... sometimes you can take the drain hose off the sink end and run water backwards into the dishwasher and dislodge the problem...

Dishwasher runs, water doesn't drain out

sounds to me that you may have some suds residue in the dishwasher that keeps it from draining completely. Get you some dishwasher cleaner which you can purchase at wal-mart or wherever you buy your detergent, and clean out your dishwasher. It is a inexpensive test. Alot less expensive than having a tech come to your house. Make sure that your drain hose is mounted higher that where it goes into the drain. This is also a common problem that I encounter in the field. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help you futher.
