I had the same problem with my Triton XL Model # - GSD6660G02SS Dishwasher. I tried adding water, zip tied each wash arm (one at a time) and had no positive result. Then I noticed a notch on what is called the docking cone. It supplies water to the middle wash arm. When the upper rack is pulled out you can see the cone at the back of the washer. Anyway I put a rubber O ring on this notch and the noise stopped. I can't tell from the parts list if the O ring is supposed to be there or not. Maybe a GE repair tech can confirm this. Hope it works for you as it did for me.

It's normal for a little water not to drain. However, many times it's that the drain hose isn't looped up high enough under the sink and water is draining back from the sink or disposer drain- into the dishwasher. If there's a disposer, be sure to run it once in a while, a good time is when the dishwasher drains. The hot water and detergent keep the unit clean, and draining correctly.

You can definately take the bottom apart and clean out the filter. Very likely some larger items are blocking the screen. Look up your model on youtube there are some good videos on how to do this. Another thing to try is pouring a bunch of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and running it empty. Once you have removed the main blockage in the drain trap you can also pour some CLR in there and run it to clear out the sprayer system too.

Remove the dishwasher drain line from the under sink connection. Direct that end to a bucket and run the drain option on the dishwasher. 1. Does water drains to the bucket. Then your under sink hook up to the dishwasher is clogged. Clean it with a screw driver. 2. No drain water comes to the bucket then 2.1 When on drain do you hear a humming noise. If yes then your drain motor working. That means mostly your dishwasher drain line clogged. 2.2 If humming noise is like a fan (impeller) running then drain line clogged. 2.3 If humming noise is like a small struggling to run. Then something stuck in the drain motor impeller.

You may have a clogged drain hose, or a bad reversing relay. Otherwise the "nut & plunger" (That's the thing at the back of your dishwasher under the filter in the back) is probably clogged or sticking. you have a clogged drain hose or a weak pump.  There are no adjustment on the timer it is what it is.

You either do not have enough water getting itno the machine or it is not hot enough. 5 years old so I would suspect a plugged screen on the fill valve.
