VIP 1225 I'm trying to control the AT&T/Motorola VIP 1225 with my Yamaha HTR-6230 remote except I don't have a remote code for the VIP1225. Does anyone know the code?

a good start would be a glance at the owners manual
this will help
perhaps you have a faulty remote
perhaps it got banged and needs the insides soldered like the IR diode at the top end
i see you mention it isnt working
so try another or take the remote to an electronics buddy who can click it open and check for a bad solder or etc...
0382,0388 are the commonly used codes for Yamaha AV receivers. If you wish to get more; check the site linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. See it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" view. It will make surf easier. http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/

I have a Yamaha RX-V571 AV Receiver and the published codes don't work for my Comcast silver remote w/ Red OK button. Managed to make it work while living in MD. Now in FL, have new remote and don't remember how I made it work before. Would love some help. T Y
I had similar problem when setting up the YAMAHA remote control for my NEC LCD TV. At the end I found I did not follow the YAMAHA manual properly. Did you hold down the DTV/CBL button, and AT THE SAME TIME press the AV POWER for 3+ seconds? You should be able to "REMOTE SETUP OK" displayed in the front panel of the YAMAHA AV receiver. Hope this helps. BTW, only the TV POWER, TV MUTE and the numeric buttons work in my case.
this one worked for me...well...sort of, no power, but it got the big one! VOLUME! 0176 and to clarify this is to reply to houseof5girl, this worked on a motorola dvr from cox.
