There is a short in the receiver that will need to be repaired. Best to take it into a shop

make sure it is plugged up good and there is no dust in the ports and if that dont work you may need new parts for it . is it a radio or a vcr?

If you haven't done this already. Chrck that you have tha corrent system chosen. Click. On the sound icon use scroll to find your system. Then be sure it is set as default in your computer. Right click on the sound icon fans you will find a set up plan for both play and record. Choose the same system for both and make them default. Pleas configure as necessary.

Select different modes on the remote or front panel and make sure all speaker that you have hooked up are showing on display. Are the Lt & Rt channels at least playing audio? Make sure your "Audio Input Mode" is set to "Auto". If you still have no audio, post a comment or reply, and I can help you with further troubleshooting. Hope this helps!

This would most likely be a failure of the center channel ort speaker. Did you set up your speaker complement according to the manual including the test tones and volume adjustments?

My Onkyo has a menu for entering what is being connected to what input. TV may have a similar menu as well. I myself would opt for HDMI whenever possible. (Look online for the cheapest you can find as the HDMI cables in stores are grossly overpriced.)
