I have an Ipod nano which contains all my music in playlists. In an attempt to transfer this music to my new laptop I have inadvertently erased all music from my old laptop. I followed some instructions about copying over a library xml file and the Library play-list titles transferred to my new lap top but not the actual music. I now have two laptops without music and an Ipod with all my music. How do I get the music from my ipod to my new laptop.
To get music from iPod nano to a new laptop.
1.Open the iPod control folder then open the music folder. Copy each one of those folders (should look similar to these: F00, F01 ...) onto your computer.
You can do this by creating a new folder on your desktop and dragging the files into the folder.
2.Open iTunes and insert the new folder you created on your computer's desktop into: library ---> Music
3.You can now sync your iPod to this new computer without losing all of your music.
Unfortunately iTunes doesn't let you transfer anything other than your iTunes store purchases from your iPod.
Totransfer all your iPod content, all your music, playlists, videos, podcasts and photos to your new iTunes library you will need todownload software like TouchCopy.
Here is how to use TouchCopy
There are 3 ways to transfer music from iPod to iTunes:
Mthod 1: Using iTunes. Connect your iPod to computer, then open iTunes and click "File" > "Device" > "Transfer Purchases from Your Device Name". By default, the exported music will be saved at C:Users/Administrator/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media. But this method can only used for purchsed music.
Method 2: Using Dropbox. Upload your music on iPod, then download from your computer via same Dropbox ID. Add downloaded music to iTunes.
Method 3: Using iTransfer. Connect your iPod to Computer. Select source music on "Music" section, then right click to transfer to iTunes.

The proper way to do this is via iTunes. You do not need your old laptop. Try this:
1. Download iTunes onto your new laptop. This can be found at: http://www.apple.com/sg/itunes/download/
2. Install iTunes onto your new laptop
3. Plug in your nano to your new laptop via USB
4. Synchronize the music from your iPod to your laptop
