About two months ago my laptop screen just went black. I have to hook my laptop up to a monitor just to do my school work. My daughter goes to private school online and I attend college online. I need my computer at all times. I bought it Feb. 2009 and was told it came with a one year warranty.
When I opened my laptop this morning my computer won't come on. The screen is totally black. I took out the battery and put it back in ---- still nothing. I plugged it in with the power cord --- nothing! What is wrong with my HP Compaq Presario CQ60?
Compaq Presario CQ60-220US year 2009 black screen tips:
1) check LED/LCD panel any display on the dark screen, if you can see some ting display, there is back lights issue, need to check panel cable or panel back board hardware
2) if nothing display on the LED/LCD screen, check panel cable or motherboard VGA chips out of work.
3) long time cpu fan dirty and never clean, should be over heating infected video chip, it becomes the screen dark but VGA works. this is likely motherboard hardware issue, but it is rare to intel processor.
If your laptop is in warranty....
try to get it repair by going to the computer shop from where you have purchased the laptop and ask him for the warranty
. if prob persists, replace videocard.
