New x-box makes alot of noise ,eg clicking and loud humming .friends new console is alot quieter

It sounds like the compressor is struggling / overheating / failing. When was the last time your stripped the back out and removed all the fluff and debris? It overworks the compressor and gets red hot when the condenser coils get blocked. The struggling compressor causes the humming. Turn it off, keep the doors closed and vacuum it all out. Clean underneath and you might as well clean the floor and walls around it as the plan is to leave it disconnected for 1 to 2 hours to cool down and settle the refrigerant gas/liquid. Some other ideas below.

The evaporator fan motor circulates air over the coils to help keep things cool inside your fridge. If this motor starts to go bad, it will make a buzzing sound as it struggles to circulate air. You'll need to replace the evaporator fan motor to fix this problem.

Rub your hand over the tread and try and feel for cupping or uneven tread patterns. This will create alot of road noise. If not, have your wheel bearings checked.

My friend's 2004 Focus was doing the same thing - especially loud when accelerating from a stop. When it reached stable speed, it got much quieter. We thought it was exhaust also, but couldn't find any cracks, gaps, or obvious leaks. We brought it to a garage, and they found a bad motor mount. When the engine was under load, it would torque (against either the frame or firewall) and make the loud, irritating noise. A new engine mount, and it sounds almost new again.

check wheel bearing

While driving, slightly turn the wheel left and right, to see if the noise gets louder and quieter. If it does, you have a wheel bearing that is failing. Then you need to isolate which side is making noise and have it replaced. SOON

Most likely this is your power steering pump - check the fluid and listen again.

The ford power steering pumps are known for a loud noise and even new ones make plenty of noise - especially when you turn the wheels. Keeping them full of fluid helps them be a little quieter.

im pretty sure thats just the inner workings of the xbox. my friend's xbox does that to, along with my wii

The loud humming noise is usually the DVD drive. It is very fast but is very loud. If you have the NXE dashboard you can download games to you Xbox 360 to run them from the hard drive (you will still need to put in the disk for copy protection issues). The Xbox should make less noise then. Try to mount the Xbox 360 on a hard surface which is in contact with a soft floor to reduce the noise travelling through your home.
If it is making a loud noise while there is no disk in the drive then take the console to a Microsoft dealer whenever you can to have them take a look at it.
