Wireless Adapter is a device that will receive the wireless signals and will make your computer wireless adapter. without the wireless adapter you can not use the computer to connect to the wireless network. Now a days all the laptops and desktops are equipped with the built in wireless adapters.
First check whether you have a wireless adapter on your computer ?

WIN XP
Right click on MY COMPUTER ==> properties ==> Device Manager ==>
you will see Network adapter ==> under network adapter you will see the wireless adapter ==> Right clink on the wireless adapter ==> properties => Check whether it says the Device is working properly or not ?If it says working properly then that's great !

WIN VISTA/ Windows 7
Click START ==> Control Panel ==> In the right hand side at the top you will see " Classic View "
Switch to classic view ==> you will see Device Manager ==> Under Network Adapters you will find your wireless adapter listed . Right clink on the wireless adapter ==> properties => Check whether it says the Device is working properly or not ? If it says working properly then that's great !

If you do not see wireless adapter in the Device manager , then either you do not have the adapter or the wireless adapter is not working .If you see "yellow exclamation mark" on the wireless adapter, that means the drivers are not installed for the adapter or not working. Reinstall the drivers.
Once your adapter is working properly , try to connect to the wireless network.

If you are installing the external wireless adapter to the computer and if you are using Windows 2000 or Windows 98 , ME, then you will have to connect to the wireless network using the utility of that adapter.
If you are using Win XP then you can use windows to connect to the wireless network or you can use other utility.
In case of Win VISTA, you will use windows to connect to the wireless network.

Hi there!
There are two ways to connect your Wii to the internet; you can connect to your wireless network (if you have a wireless modem set up in your house), or you can connect using a wired connection directly to your modem.
If using a wired connection, you will need to purchase a Wii LAN adapter and connect that from your WII into your wired router.
danam106.png

Once you have figured out what connection type you will use (and if using a wired connection, purchased and connected your Wii LAN adapter) you will need to take the following steps:
FOR WIRELESS CONNECTION:
  • Turn on your Wii and click on the "Wii" button on the bottom left of the screen
  • Click on "Wii Settings"
  • Click on the arrow on the right side of the screen and select "Internet"
  • Select "Connection 1 : none" (if you don't see "None" in Connection 1, click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings")
  • Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point"
  • Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds.
  • Select the wireless network that is yours.
  • If it asks you to enter a password or key, then your wireless connection is password protected and you will need to enter the password that was setup to allow access to your network.
  • Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."
  • Your Wii will test the connection and you should get a message saying connection was successful.
FOR WIRED CONNECTIONS:
  • Connect your Wii to the Wii LAN adapter and connect that to your modem or broadband adapter. Please not that you will need to unplug your modem for a few minutes to reset the connection and you will also need to unplug the connection to your computer when you want to connect your Wii to the internet.
  • Turn on your Wii and select the Wii icon on the bottom left
  • Click on "Wii Settings"
  • Click the arrow on the right side of the screen and select "Internet"
  • Click "Connection Settings"
  • Click "Connection 1 : none" (if you don't see "None" in Connection 1, click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings")
  • Click "Wired Connection"
  • Click "Ok"
  • Your Wii will now do a connection test
  • You should see a message saying the test was successful
Hope this helps!

Can't connect to 3Com Office connect wireless from Apple Mac Pro

PPPoE connection is set up

1. Control Panel, double-click Network Connections. 2. Click the PPPoE connection under the Broadband group that you want to share, and then click Change settings of this connection under Network Tasks. 3. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box. 4. PPPoE connections behave in a similar way as do dial-up networking (DUN) connections, and you may want the connection to be automatically dialed when another computer on your network attempts to connect to the Internet. To do this, click to select the Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet check box. 5. If you want to allow other network users to enable or disable the shared Internet connection, click to select the Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection check box. 6. Under Internet Connection Sharing, in Home networking connection, click the LAN (Local Area Network) connection that connects the computer that is sharing its PPPoE Internet connection to the other computers on your network.

Wont connect to the internet

Try this, assuming you're using Internet Explorer: Go to Tools > Internet Options and select the Connections tab. Does it show your old dial-up connection in the list? If so highlight it and click on REMOVE. Close IE and re-open it. It should now use the Belkin LAN connection.
