Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner III... soak/scour button & time remaining window (two dashes) remain on when not in use. I can activate the accu-sense cycle & the sani rinse (the normal combo I use), which allows me to "turn off" the soak light. After pressing start, the cycle starts normally for a few seconds but then it just has a mind of it's own. It flips to the soak/scour mode which flashes 4hrs remaining. Then it'll flop back again & again. I hit cancel & then the drain started with 2min remaining. So I flipped the breaker & left it sit overnight. Flipped the breaker & right back to the 2min, draining mode then directly to the soak mode. Now the buttons don't seem to be reacting at all. I've repaired the matching microwave & put two compressors into Whirpool's Jenn-Air Fridge all in the last 4 months. As soon as the fridge was finally fixed, this started. the appliances are only 4 years old. Please help, I can't afford any more "service calls" right now. Thanks so much!!!

Hello bckp,
Welcome to Fixya
If your dishwasher does not run or stops during a cycle
Is the Start/Resume indicator flashing? Opening the door or
interrupting the power stopped the cycle. Close the door and
press START/RESUME.
Does the Start/Resume indicator flash 3 times when you
press START/RESUME? The dishwasher is waiting for you to
open the door after the last cycle. Open and close the door,
then press START/RESUME.
Is the door closed tightly and latched?
(NOTE: On models with a dual-digit display, the control
displays “- -” during a cycle if it believes the door is not
latched.)
Is the right cycle selected? Refer to the “Cycle Selection
Charts.”
Is there power to the dishwasher? Has a household fuse
blown, or has a circuit breaker tripped?
Has the motor stopped due to an overload? The motor
automatically resets itself within a few minutes. If it does not
restart, call for service.
Is the water shutoff valve (if installed) turned on?
It is normal for certain cycles to repeatedly pause for several
seconds during the main wash.
If the dishwasher will not fill
Check the overfill protection float that is able to move up and down
freely? Press down to release.
Let me know if any of these procedures helped you?

SOURCE: The only button that works is the cancel drain
Sounds like a keypad malfunction or the control board has gone bad.
SOURCE: I have a whirlpool Quiet Partner I. HELP Drain light flashing
This may or may not help in your situation, but the following link explains how you can clear the blinking clean light problem:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r417123-blinking_clean_light_kenmore_whirlpool
Now...keep in mind all dish washers are not alike and have different panel options. If you do not have the same set up as I have referenced, the tech sheet for your dishwasher will explain. The tech sheet is located behind the lower toe panel under the door and lists the proper sequence of buttons to push for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
NOTE: Sometimes the tech sheet is located behind the inner door panel. You will need to remove the screws securing the inner panel to access it if this is the case. Make sure you turn off the main power breaker before doing so.
Sometimes this can be a momentary glitch in operation. However, if the problem keeps reoccuring the number of flashes is an indication of which circuit is causing your problem. Again, refer to your tech sheet to determine this.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this fixes your problem.
