There have been recalls on some model Homelites for this problem. And we have heard complaints about other models that Homelite wouldn't repair. Contact Homelite if no satisfactory resolution; contact your Attorney General, BBB. HTH

As a last resort a local saw shop can probably repair it for $20 or less. Ask them to demonstrate what they did.

Transmission won,t go out of park

Nearly all the new cars have a Park-Interlock System (with an Auto Transmission)
The Key is on - usually engine running
The Brake Pedal applied
Then shifter is Un-Locked
There could be a problem with the interlock system
Also be aware that if you have the vehicle parked on an incline - that can put the transmission linkage in a bind making it almost impossible to shift out of park. To prevent this last issue from happening - AWAYS apply the parking brake when parking on an incline. Let the parking brake support the weight of the vehicle - not the transmission park paw gear.

Unable to take out of park position

Do the brake light work? No brake lights and it won't shift out of park. Check your fuses and check for loose wires. Check your brake light switch. If that has failed, you won't be able to get out of park. The other one if the shift lock solenoid which is in the shifter assembly. The brake shift interlock switch prevents the car being shifted from park unless the brake pedal is depressed. Try to apply power/ground to the proper wires & see if it will activate.. If it does, then the problem is between the brake light switch & that solenoid. Could be the wires or the switch.Make sure the shifter cable is still held down in place at the shifter assembly & under the hood. It is the interlock switch that you hear/feel clicking. It is for the prior generation but may still apply.

Good Luck and hopefully you soon will be on the road again...;-)

Shift lever lock won't release when brake pedal is

do the brake lights work? most of the time the problem is a broken wire at the brake light switch under the dash on the brake pedal. the ECM does not see the signal from the switch so it won't allow the car to shift from park.

How do i unlock my videocon AC remote???i see a key symbol on the top right corner of the remote screen.

When not in a setting mode, pressing and holding UP & DOWN keys for 3 seconds,
the key pad is locked. After setting it, the LOCK icon will be displayed on LCD to
indicate that key pad has been locked and all the keys are disabled. At that case,
the remote won't send out any codes. The LOCK icon on the LCD flash 3 times,
0.5 seconds for ON, 0.5 seconds for OFF, and press & hold UP & DOWN keys for
3 seconds, the remote is un-locked.

The lock button UN-locks the unit, while the entry code LOCKS it. How do I program it to reverse?...

here's a link to the solution:

I have installed your Powerbolt, but when I push the Lock Button, it unlocks? What should I do? First remove the cover on the inside of the Powerbolt unit. On the right hand side under the batteries, you will notice that is says "Door Direction Jumper". If the cap is mounted on Prongs 1 & 2, carefully remove it and move it over so that it mounts Prongs 2 & 3. A is right handed, B is left handed.

Passenger sliding door doesn´t unlock (Power locks). When pulling the handle either inside or outside with doors unlocked it won´t open.

Sound like you have a dammaged door latch assembly. It is a pain but you have to take the insid door trim panal off to see what you are doing and make sure the latch assy is un locking. Dis connect power door lock motor linkage to make sure motot is not jaming the lock in the lock possition.
