Terrible noise when printing

We bought a Samsung CLX-3160FN printer/fax/scanner in last June and all of a sudden it has started to make terrible noise when printing/copying. There is no paper jam. Any idea what might cause this? It almost sounds like it needs oiling :-)

noise problems are the most difficult because it still works so nothing is failing.

when I t-shoot printers I remove all the consumables first, toners, drum and so on then cycle the power, 80% of the time is one of these components, the other times are items like the fuser.

in some cases are the small plastic roller on the exit assembly sometimes by bending them a little or manually spinning them will make it stop

    good luck

    thanks for your rating

I have a samsung clx-3160fn printer. All toners are ok, espcecially the black one - BUT when I print black&white doc, it is comign out really faded - as if the black toner is low. BUT it is not!! ...

Go to printer properties and check whether you have selected print in grey mode and also check whether you have selected the economic mode. Rectify the same will solve your problem.

Samsung clx-3160fn won't print

Usually I've seen that happen when you use generic toners. There are 4 toner clutches down the right side, with the right cover off you can see which clutch is doing the grinding. Many of the generics are overfilled and hard to turn and will make the noise until you loosen them by hand turning them til they loosen up, or just replacing.

Cant receive faxes

Did you try to check the toner?

Try to print if the copy is lighter than before or it cant copy or print then you need to replace your toner cartridge.

Hope it can help you. (" ,)

Vertical line on page when scanning/faxing

Clean the scanner glass. You probably have some dirt or whiteout on it. Open up the top feeder and look at the narrow glass and you'll probably find it.

Nope. I've tried everything. Feel lucky that yours doesn't jam 9 of 10 tries when copying (among other things). I'm going to take a baseball bat to mine.
