My kenwood chef 700w has decided to stop working after 15years of problem free operating. plug it in and power on then turn speed dial but nothing happens. any ideas of what is wrong.

I hope you didn't buy a new one, ours stopped last week after 25 years. All that was needed were new brushes for the motor. Anyone with a screwdriver could replace them. 4Kenwood had the parts to me in a couple of days.
The fuse would be inside the plug, but if the machine is receiving power, it's not the fuse.
Go through it structurally, put the plug in, switch it on at the wall, switch it on at the machine.
Try a different socket.
Are other devices working within that room? It could be the trip-switch for the sockets.

Found a kit on ebay for 9.99 which fixes the speed cntrol problem on 901 chefs do a search for kenwood motor repair comes with instructions you would need to be ok with a soldering iron
