Oven Lock stuck open before start of self-cleaning cycle I get a code F9, a flashing lock light, a continous beep and a dr code on the panel when I try to set self-cleaning cycle again.

Thank you for your inquiry, Lucie!

From what you have described your Frigidaire oven lock is stuck open and you are receiving error codes "F9" and "DR". The "F9" error code stands for runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. The "DR" code means that the door is not closed or the door latch is not recognizing the door is closed. This could be an issue with your door latch or control panel. If the reset does not help correct your issues I would recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. Best of luck! -Matt

Tried to cancel self cleaning and now the door is locked. F9 appears frequently. Have turned off the breaker and unplugged the stove. Door is still locked.

Hi mariebeane,

The F9 error code description is a door latch failure. Replace the door latch switch or assembly if necessary.

Hope it helps.

Code f9 on frigidaire self cleaning oven. what does it mean. i went to clean the oven and the door locked and the code f9 came up and keeps beeping. i unplugged the stove for 1/2 hour and plugged it...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. F9 error in your oven/range indicates an issue with the door locks assembly and/or the door latch. To start with check the door lock circuit, you can also try to jump start it to see if it's working. If it's not working then the Electronic Range control has gone bad and should be replaced, if it is working then the door lock circuit should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

F9 code on unit. Oven door locked

Yes, the error code F9 means that the door lock circuit is faulty and should be checked and replaced by a technician. I can supply you with a part number if your able to locate the model number. Which can be found usually on the inside of the pots and pans drawer at the bottom, OR on the back area or the stove. Usually will begin with letters followed by numbers. Hope this helps

Thanks

Stove door locked and continues to beep and flash code F9

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

Frigidaire self clean electric stove 'f9' message comes on when self cleaning

I had the same problem. All I had to do was clean around the door lock. A small bit of burnt food or something had gotten into the hole around the lock and prevented it from moving all the way into position. Took a tooth pick and 30 seconds of probing to clean it out. Works fine now.
