We just moved and hooked up our washing maching at our new house. It was working fine before the move. Now when I hook up the water hoses and turn the hose on, water leaks from the water inlet valve. It leaks a lot, not just a drip. I have tightened the hoses, taken them off and put them back on and it still leaks. Do I need to replace the inlet valve?
Thanks for your suggestion. I may have cross threaded the hose after I took it off but we never took the hose off the washing machine for the move and it was leaking. I may just have to call a repair man because replacing the valve does not look easy. Thanks for your help. Thanks for your suggestion. Take the hose off the valve and look inside it. There should be a flat rubber seal inside the hose coupling that seals to the valve. It sounds like you have lost this washer out of the end of the hose. You can pick them up at any hardware store. If they are over 5 years old, I suggest replacing the hoses completely anyway.
If this is not the problem, you may have cross threaded the hose on the valve. If this is the case you may have to change the valve.

It probably got a hard bump sometime during the move and cracked the valve. They are not usually hard to replace. If it is the front load washer you can remove the top of the machine and get to it easily.
If you want to try it, post back the complete model number from the machine and I will try to walk you through it.

The breaker may have tripped as some model washers draw significantly more power than others. you should check the breaker and make sure its rated for your washer. I would also not suggest running your washer with out hooking it up to the water line as this can damage the pump.
Rocker should be down but check to see if there are any kinks in the hose or if the water pressure is good before you hook the hose to the refrigerator inlet.
there may be a block somewhere, including the shoot that the water comes out in the refrigerator, That may freeze up with ice if there is a slow valve leak.
Thats a problem. Did you have the washer laid on it's side when moving? Timer switch would be first look. Hot water not working, but cold is? Mmmm.. Water inlet is pretty simple no real mechanical parts except intake valve for each inlet. Valve could be plugged or stuck closed on hot intake. Temp switch could be bad and that would cause the water intake to shut.I guess, but not usually a problem unless old machine. Make sure the fuse in control panel is intact. Underside of washer is a relay switch called wigwag. If it is bad nothing will cycle, easy fix 10 minutes and $15 in most cases. But check out before jumping to solve. All ways check cheapest parts first. Lid switch would also cause the no start and spin cycle problems.
Hi
After investigating the logic of the machine and how the timer works, I traced it down to the cold water solinoid rubber stopper It had crud in it and just hummed. After cleaning it out it ran just fine..
This is an easy fix.. If it cant run water it wont go to the next part of the cycle.
I hope this helps. I have more info if required.

hi is this hot and cold water piped machine? ie two connections on rear of machine for hot and cold pipes ? if so are your pipes connected properly on machine and the water supplies? if cold supply is connected to hot supply then wash inlet allows water in washer then washes in cold? but when rinse is due? the elec valve that has hot water pipe connected?? is failing to open allowing water flow of hot on rinse so advise recheck pipes for flow of water from both? when disconnected from machine if flow ok then possible valve blocked/faulty hope you can understand above? if you can give more info on your machine it would help to offer a remedy?
