Please see the following Whirlpool / Maytag service manual for Neptune washers.
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/dc59d905140253e18525729c005765f4/$FILE/Maytag_Neptune_Washer.pdf

On page 3-1 the manual explains that if the washer shuts off during the spin cycle, the problem points to a weak spring in the door lock mechanism.

"Shuts OFF In The Middle Of The Spin Cycle:
During the spin cycle, the machine control
monitors the door lock mechanism to ensure
the door is locked. This is done through the
door lock enable switch. During "lock mode,"
the shaft of the door lock mechanism is
pressed forward by the door lock wax motor,
and the shaft presses in the button of the door
lock enable switch. If the machine control
board sees the switch OPEN during the spin
cycle, the machine control board will automatically
shut the washer OFF. This is caused
by a weak spring in the door lock wax motor.
Replace the complete door lock mechanism.

Getting nf from maytag neptune tl washer code

Don't know unit but see if you can get wiring diagram and see where the relay that picks up that cycle. You can just tap them at times to get them to work. Hopefully it doesn't have optic couplers (no relays) cause the that board is bad

Maytag Neptune tl- about 6 years old. Wont finish out the final spin cycle on any setting and also sounds like tub/drum is hitting against side of machine. It also rocks like crazy. Shows the code for...

You have a Clutch malfunction common problem with the FAV6800A and FAV9800A TL's. Owners very seldom report all the conditions of wild tub swings. You are on the ball with info feedback.

See if this post Clutch Fix will get you started.

My Maytag will not run a complete cycle. Is there

What is your machine model number? Is it a FAV6800A or FAV9800A TL?

If it’s a FAV6800A or FAV9800A TL do you error out in the Spin cycle of the wash cycle with an unbalance error code such as dC or uC? Is the wsh tub banging around during Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle?

If so see this post Clutch Fix. I have a step by step maintenance/repair process for Clutch Pulley assembly issues related to the above error codes.

Spin cycle

it sounds like there is either an obstruction in the pump, or the load is getting off balance during the spin cycle. two things to try, fill the washer with no cloths in it, when it starts to agitate, stop the cycle and put it in drain/spin cycle. the water should be out in under a minute. its hard to see because the door locks, but you can hear a difference in the pump when its out, or after 60 seconds, press cancel and open the lid to check. if the waters out in that time, the pumps ok. then run it through the spin diagnostic with a load of cloths. make sure the cloths are wet, and a normal load you wash. this will check to see if the load is getting off balance, and shutting down during the spin cycle. let me know if you still have the problem. good luck, shane

Washer not finishing it's rinse/spin cycle

Run any load - large or the least bit bulky (like sheets) on the "BULKY" cycle. It takes longer, but the machine completes the wash. This shouldn't be the way it works. I love the Neptune TL for its retro look and lack of Maytag's classic big cranky knob. Too bad it runs like ****.
