Acer aspire one, won't wake up from sleep mode, screen blank

Try below steps.
1. Check computer in safe mode (Tap F8 while booting)
if works fine in safe mode , check startup programs and services.
2. Run antimalwarebyte in safe mode download from http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/download/6a5b2c1adb0e88e84ab39920bab1ebbd/.

3. Try to repair using repair your computer option (windows 7,8)

Hibernation is the biggest creator of software nightmares...it has killed more computer systems and corrupted more systems than I can count. Go to control panel > power options and change your power settings in there. Turn hibernation off and just have the computer go to sleep after a certain time. You will find that the computer will come right back in sleep mode and will be ready for action. Don't worry about the system running until sleeping and then waking up, it's a lot better than finding your entire operating system is now corrupt and has to be re-installed.

dont use sleep mode.

this is a problem with the standby feature there is a patch that Microsoft has put out that should fix the problem i think the main cause is having a usb device plugged in when going to sleep, search Microsoft knowldege base and it should pop right up

When you turn on your laptop do you see the P.O.S.T screen or it just remains blank? and also while booting up do you get any beep sound?
Try to boot your computer in Safe Mode by Tapping F2 (or Del in few laptops) key after pushing Power Button.

To get out of sleep mode you should hit any key, move the mouse, open the lcd. To go into sleep Fn+F4

I had the same problem when I first bought my Acer Aspire One a few weeks ago. I searched the web for answers, but it didn't really seem like anyone had a solution. However, one guy on a forum or website said something that gave me an idea - he said something like: What's the problem? Just open it up, hit the power button, type your password, and it wakes up.

Well, that didn't seem helpful to me at the time that I read it, but after thinking about it, I had a hunch. I had not set up my netbook to have a password (yet). So I did. And it's been waking up from sleep mode like it should ever since!!!

Hopefully, if you're reading this, setting a password will work for you, too. If you don't know how to set a password, here goes... Start...Control Panel...User Accounts...Change an Account...[Pick your name.account]...then the option to create a password should come up. Let us know if this works for you!

if the blue round led at the top of keybard is glowing yellow then just press it once (not hold it too long to shut down)and it will wake up!
