My computer doesn't recognize my Sansa E200

My Sansa e200 isn't recognized by either of my computers. I went to the SanDisk site and looked for an appropriate download but came up with nothing. I have two of these devices and one of them worked with the computer at first and then it just stopped and ow it doesn't recognize either device.

When I plug my e200 into the computer, it recognizes it...then disconnects....then reconnects....then disconnects....connects....disconnects. Truly annoying. Any ideas?

Make sure player's usb menu is set to MSC, so computer will recognize it. Not sure why, but sometimes it helps to try another usb port on the computer. Good luck.

Why won't my computer recognize my sandisk player.....i just plugged in the usb cable directly in the computer....but it's not being recognized.

Hello,

For the Sans e260, see the e200 series support site on "not recognized":
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/266/kw/recognize/r_id/101834

Solution 1 RESETTING THE DEVICE
1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.

When RESETTING the player did NOT help

Solution 2
GOING TO MSC or RECOVERY MODE and next UPDATE FIRMWARE

STEP 1 GOING TO MSC MODE or RECOVERY MODE
For e200v1/e200R (Recovery mode only): Connecting in Recovery mode
For e200v2 (Force MSC mode only): Enabling MSC mode

Check your firmware, see the differences on next link:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/193/related/1/session/L2F2LzEvc2lkL0NqNGJpNVBq

STEP 2 FIRMWARE REINSTALLATION OR UPDATE
ALL DATA ON THE PLAYER will be ERASED !

Method 1: Automatic, using the Sansa Firmware Updater

Method 2: Manual, downloading firmware from the Sansa Forum
For e200 series version 1 and 2 to the Forum e200 thread
For e200 series version Rhapsody to the Forum e200R thread

My sansa e200 is not recognized by my pc

Have you tried changing the USB format? Go to the settings option on your sandisk and look for USB Mode. Change is to MSC (if that doesn´t work try MTP). When you connect it, it should detect the player.
