Connect belkin f5d7130 to homehub 1.5

Got bthomehub1.5
trying to connect belkin AP (f5d7130) as a range extender - Can't!

HH is hard wired to PC1. AP is hard wired to PC2.
Trying to link two via wireless. AP will also act as range extender for laptops.

PC2 / AP doesn't receive IP address from HH.

Belkin manual poor - done what it say but no joy - I think it assumes you will be connectingto belkin router.

I have I need to change IP address but ot sure if that is on PC1, PC2, HH or AP.

Can any one help?

You need to connect all pc's and homehub to a switch so they can talk to one another. Then use the AP as a wireless access point to connect all wireless laptops, and connect the AP to the switch with ethernet cable, and you have a network. Just make sure that only your HH or AP supplies IP addresses or they will clash.

I cannot connect to my belkin connect n150 router after enabling it as an access point. Green light shows up on router and wireless network shows up but no connection when clicked. I cant connect via

Pretty sure you have to have at least one router in gateway mode to connect to the internet. An AP allows wireless devices to connect to a wired segment. The same as a router in gateway mode. AP mode has the benefit of extending a networks wireless range. If this is your only device leave it in gateway mode.

Belkin f9k1106v1 range extender not connecting

QUICK TIP: When finding a location for your range extender, it is best to place it within the same room as the computer.
You can also use https://192.168.206.1 to access the range extender's web-based setup page.
Step 1:
Place the range extender in an area where the Wi-Fi signal of your router is strong, but near where you want to establish your extended network.
Step 2:
Plug in the power supply of the range extender and make sure that it is powered ON. Shortly, its light will begin to flash blue and orange.
Step 3:
Place your computer near the range extender. Also, make sure your computer is not wired to any other network devices.
Step 4:
Connect your computer to the range extender by opening the list of Wi-Fi networks and selecting Belkin.setup. Confirm that the list shows it's connected.
Step 5:
Open a web browser, enter https://belkin.range into the Address bar, and follow the on-screen instructions. Don't forget to type "http".
Once the setup for your range extender is complete, you may connect the computer to its Wi-Fi.

How can I extend the router's range?

Most routers have about 200m range. However, the actual range in real-time environment is much less. Generally the antenas are omni-directional, however, directional antenna can be used to improve range in one direction. There are two ways to increase the range/ coverage area (i) Adding external antenna of appropriate type (ii) Installing additional Access Point (AP) connecting it with the existing AP wirelessly in line-of-sight (creating WDS) OR connecting the two APs with wire, which is a better option as it provides robust and reliable connectivity between APs.

Based on my on-site experience, I suggest that you may relocate the AP to another location depending upon your network environment. It has always helped me a great deal. Placing the AP at the desk level, avoiding obstacles such as concrete pillars, walls, steel cabinets etc in the signal path have remarkable effect on range and overall performance of the network.

HOPE IT HELPS...Let me know if you need any further clarification assistance specific to you AP make and model. Don't forget to rate the solution if I could have been of any help!
Goodluck!

What is WDS?

Wireless Distribution System (WDS) allows you to make a completely wireless infrastructure. Normally, the access points must be connected with a wire (LAN). These access points create cells allowing a wireless connection. The WDS feature allows the access points to be wirelessly connected. This feature is normally used in large, open areas where pulling a wire is restricted or not cost effective and in residential circumstances. If the structure utilizing an access point is too large to cover using one AP, a second AP would be used as a wireless repeater. The WDS has forwarding functionality for extending the range of an AP. By setting up an extended service set (ESS) between access points. Stations can intersect with any AP of this ESS and move between the coverage of both APs while the higher layer network connection remains intact.
