I'm having this strange problem with my LCD screen.Some permanent dotted lines have appeared on my screen from top to bottom. First there were just two lines,but steadily the number has been increasing(now there are 9).They are of different colours and once a line appears it stays.Also there is no fixed interval at which these lines are increasing..its pretty random.they appear to be moving dotted lines..ive been told i might need to replace the LCD...is there any solution...thanks in advance
I am having acer travelmate 4152nlci laptop. I found some vertical coloured lines appearing to the screen. Initially there were few in number but now they are many,may be 30. These lines donot appear when the computer is turned off. Indeed offered solution is most likely correct. However I can suggest you to ensure if dots/lines appear even before windows screen comes. If yes thats the conclusion that your LCD Module has dead pixels or internal connectors has connectivity issue. Consult a local Hands on technician. LCD module might be costly you can always use an external monitor with your laptop. Good luck. Happy new year.

Faults to all LCD & Plasma screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.
hi lea, does this dots and lines appears occasionally or it just stays there? because if its permanently there, then you might need to replace the lcd part of the lower screen (not the touch screen part) but if its occasionally, then try to see if it happens when your on the lowest brightness or highest brightness, if it is then you will have to adjust the variable resistor on the motherboard of the DS,let me know if you have to do this.
the LCD is a very complicating device for all CP. you may check it by disassemble it to it's LCD and connect the ribbon wire/flex of the LCD firmly... but this problem is best to replace it with a new LCD... very complicated device indeed
i may be incorrect, but i believe those lines are dead pixels, basically, they're lines of pixels (or dots) on the screen, that have become permanently one color, usually white or black
Try moving a medium powered magnet (not one for picking up heavy objects and not a refrigerator holding one) over the distorted area. If that doesn't work, try a more powerful one. This worked for my Toshiba LCD. Good luck!
