I don't think that it's due to crooked replacement of cap. I have that problem on a Craftsman, and I think the plastic tank got slightly distorted.

It sounds like the thread on the cap is damaged due to crooked replacement of cap. Try putting the cap on correctly and screw on very carefully. You may be lucky that the thread is not too badly damaged.

I have a Hans Grohe shower head extension #27479000 that requires a 1/2" male NPT nipple extending 5/8" from the finished wall surface. I found the female pipe thread in the 27479000 is threaded...

NPT and NPS are the same. Screw away! If your female thread is plastic and your male thread is metal, you must be careful not to overtighten as overtightening can crack the plastic on the female thread. Good luck, and don't forget your teflon tape. 4 to 5 wraps is good unless you have heavy duty gas piping teflon, then use less.

I am having trouble connecting the male plug to the female coupler - is there a trick?

If you mean the air connectors, usually you pull back a ring on the end of the female coupler, push the male adapter in hard while holding the ring and then release the ring

How to change 1993 5.7L GMC quick connect heater hose leaking at intake.

There are plastic clips on the sides which need to be released, usually either by pushing inward or by pulling back, and then you just give a yank backwards with the whole thing. The seal is by an o-ring inside. You can purchase both the male and female assemblies at your parts store, and it's a good idea to replace both, I've found. If I follow your question correctly, your female side is screwed into your manifold and the hose is the male side.

Hou to connect pilot gas line to the gas valve Is

Almost all of these fitting are a compression fitting. You may have to go to a plumbimg, heating, and A.C.parts supply store to buy the specific fitting you need but most have threaded male fitting with the compression ferrule attached in one fitting. Be careful when you start threads and finish tightening as the fitting are brass and the gas valve body is aluminium. Danger of cross threading or stripping threads if you over tighten. It is not mandatory to use pipe thread sealer on these fitting but I normally will to make it easier to get a good leak free seal without over tightening. Hope this helps you. Thanks

Plastick water lines to brass shower handle i used teflon tape to try to seal. plastick threads are male to female brass

If the waterline is plastic then it may be PEX. Wrap the male plastic threads in a few wraps of teflon tape. Screw on a Brass PEX fitting onto the plastic threads and then connect the PEX pipe with a crimping tool.

Is that what you were looking for? If not let me know a few more details.

Thanks,

The signal connector came out back of T.V. Where abouts on back do I put it back in?

hope you mean the cable is disconnected, and not the outside threaded male connector that came as part of the t-v! if that's broken off, could be complicated to replace. if it's the cable (female, inside threaded- electronics can be a bit sexist at times!) then look at the back for 'cable or antenna in' carefully re-attach the female to the male connector. it can become frustrating to get them aligned properly. make sure the copper wire in the center of the female connector is straight!! so it fits properly!
be patient! if it's a 'push on', makes it easier, but not as secure. if it seems loose, a gentle 'squeeze' with pliers can tighten it up, very gentle!!
good luck!

The threads are stripped on my Hayward sand filter drain plug.

I've had the same problem every year since I bought this house 10 years ago with my Hayward filter drain and finally MacGyvered a great solution. Went to Home Depot and bought a 1" PVC shutoff valve. The Hayward drain has an outside 1 1/4" thread. The part I got was an 'Aqua-Dynamic' 1" PVC Schedule 40(I can't find a picture of it on the internet). It is a white PVC valve with an inside thread that mates with the Hayward and a red shutoff winged knob. You need to hacksaw the red wings off the knob in order to be able to screw it onto the drain because the filter's base gets in the way. Leave the valve in the open position(especially if water is still draining with filter off) and put PVC cement on the outside of the drain thhreads and a bit on the inside of the valve and screw it on. When the glue dries(5 minutes), you now have a drain that you can open and close every year with ease(you need a pair of pliers because the wings are off the turn knob but it works great!)

I purchased the Porter Cable 20 piece accessory kit part A00438, and no idea on how to assemble this. No instructions included either. This is the kit that allows to put airpressure in your car, bikes,...

First get some teflon thread tape, for applying 2 or 3 tightly wrapped turns around the male threaded quick-disconnect adapters, threaded end on your air hose and compressor before installation.
Note: remember that the female quick-disconnect adapter is also a check valve that will only release air when a male quick-disconnect adapter is inserted, i.e. do not install a  male quick-disconnect adapter directly to an air compressor outlet.
Note 2:Always remember to wear approved eye protection when operating air tools.
Start by installing the female quick-disconnect adapters on a male threaded end of the air hose and on to the outlet port on the air compressor tighten the connections with two open end wrench's. Then install the male quick-disconnect adapters to the other end of the hose, blow-gun tool, and the air chuck tool, (tighten as described above). The other implements in the kit (wire brush attachment, inflation needle, etc...) can be threaded in to the outlet port of the blow-gun as needed.
The operation of connecting  quick-disconnects are as follows: Grasp the tool in one hand, and with the other hand grasp the air line near the end leaving the thumb and fore finger free to operate the spring loaded outer release cylinder on the female quick-disconnect by pulling back on it. With the cylinder pulled back, insert the male quick-disconnect adapter in to the female quick-disconnect adapter, then release the thumb and fore finger from the outter release cylinder, thus locking the two together. check to be sure the lock has engaged by lightly pulling at the tool. Reversing this process will disengage the tool from the air line.
Hope this helps Good luck

Broken sayno part

Hi wingshooter,

Your son is right. the 2 screw of the male should be fasten
to the hole of the female dvi. replacing the whole part
need careful de-soldering.

However, if the shield is still there and only the hole where
to screw in the male end of the cable, you can get from
old computer discarded around. you only have to remove
the two hex screw and replace it into your DVI female.
Observe that the head of these screws are hex, six corners,
and the hole is threaded. that threaded hole is where to screw in
the screw attached to your male DVI socke

Good luck,
