http://www.emachines.com/support/product... Series&model=T6426 As you can see at the link above, the manufacturer has no drivers for modem or LAN card. You have to remove them from the computer and look for appropiated drivers. Can you tell us the model number and/or the chipset of these cards ?

Factory restore

If your particular eMachines model didn't come with recovery media or you just misplaced the disc, you don't want to be caught without a means to restore the operating system.

It's all too easy to accidentally download a virus or experience any number of problems that make your computer unstable.

However, there is an option for restoring your computer without the original recovery disc by using the pre-installed recovery software.

Use an external memory device such as a DVD, flash drive or external hard drive to back up the data you need to save from your eMachines computer.

Any data that isn't saved to an external source will be erased when the computer is restored to factory settings.

Remove any discs that are in the optical drive and unplug the computer's peripheral devices, such as an Ethernet cable or scanner.

Do not disconnect the keyboard, mouse or monitor.

Click the Windows "Start" menu and choose "All Programs."

Navigate to "eMachines" and choose "eMachines Recovery Management." Click the "Restore" tab.

Click "Password Settings" if you have not already set a recovery password. Type a new password in the text box and click "OK." Click "Restore System to Factory Default."

Type the recovery password and click "OK." Click "Next" to wipe the eMachines computer's hard drive and begin the recovery process.

Select "Finish" and wait for the eMachines computer to restart.

Use the series of installation prompts that appear on the screen to create a new user account for your operating system, set the system date and time, and set up your internet settings.

You can order a set of recovery disks here:

    https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=emachines

They are about $20 plus shipping, and you need to input your machine's serial number to insure you obtain the correct disks.

1st Option: Go to BIOS level and select the CD/DVD device is the first device for boot option and then insert the recovery CD/DVD to format or install OS.
2nd Option: If recovery CD/DVD got curropted and you are having the other OS CD/DVD, then try to load and format or install the OS. Also try to download the recovery image from vendor website.

I bought an emachines computer about a year ago with vista home. My hard drive died, how do I install vista on a new drive, I have no install disk for vista.

You'll need to contact the manufacturer.  After they confirm the product serial # (you should write down both the product number and Microsoft license # before you call) they will send out a recovery disk (they will probably charge you for them).  If the old hard drive is still installed, you can attempt a recovery by booting and hitting the ALT key while tapping the F10 key repeatedly to initiate the recovery mode which is stored in a partition on the hard drive.  The partition is probably still good although the "C" drive is no good.

How to put the recovery partition back on the emachines t5048

As far as i know the only way is to run the restore disk from emachine that is for your model computer. (it usually wipes the computers hard disk in the process.)

the link below will take you to their support site for drivers.

on that site look for eMachines Recovery Media Purchase Program and you can see about ordering the recovery disk that you need.

Need to reload windows xp on Emachines PC

Yes all you have to do is.........

    Turn off the Computer
Turn back on and Press F11 repeatedly when the message "Press F11 to start recovery" is displayed.
The recovery will load and display a menu of options:

Full System Restore (with Backup): This options will move all Hard Disk contents to the "c:\My Backup" directory and install a new copy of Windows. This option preserves your existing data files, however all applications and settings will need to be reinstalled. This option requires 4GB of free Hard Disk space for the new OS.

Alway suggest backing up your data before you do any recovery
