'Print cartridge missing or not detected' Message

Changed both cartridges. unplugged everything and plugged back in. cleaned contact points. still says "print cartridge(s) missing..."

Is this even fixable or should I be shopping for a new printer - not HP!?

I have the same problem with this unit. It usually happens every time I change the ink. The problem seems to resolve itself in time. Enough with this drama, I'm buying a Cannon!

HPPhotosmart C4250 mgs "Printer Cartridge missing or not detected

There may be debris that is blocking the communication between the cartridge and the printer, especially if you are using a remanufactured cartridge. Remove the cartridge and unplug the printer from the power supply. Take a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and wipe off the contacts on the cartridge as well as the contacts inside of the printer. Allow both to dry for a few minutes before plugging the printer back in and re-installing the cartridge. This should clear up any miscommunication between the two.
