When I Scan, after a short time there are Vertical Blue lines the full length of the scan on the right side of the scanned document. What is the cause of this on an HP G3110 flatbead scanner?

its either the glass or if you lok insode where the lamp it could be that its not clean

Suddenly doesn't warm up epson 3170 and windows says it is malfunctioning.

Sounds like the bar inside off the scanner isn't working properly, if thats the case then that means the scanner is bad and it would need to be replaced.

Only thing you can try would be to unplug the scanner for about 5 minutes and then plug it back in. Then turn it on and see if it can initialize properly. If it still cant then you know the scanner is bad for sure.

My epson 3170 scanner is coming up with weird steaked images when i try to scan black and white film. it has been working fine for paper documents, but not for films. what can i do?

You can try copying the films first onto regular paper and then scanning those copies.

yes this option is inclussive with your epson scan program, learn to play with the different modes of the scanner ex: professional, home mode etc. usually these modes have these options.

How do I clean the inside of the glass on the Epson 3490 Scanner?

Disconnect and remove the lid. Remove the two screws on the back of the base. Then use a screwdriver or flat blade to slightly open the back seam. Beginning at the back, run a blade up inside the upper part of the side seam. You will need to release three catches on each side. Once the sides are loose, raise the back of the top, while pushing forward, and the two snap catches at the front will release. The top then lifts off and you can clean the glass. Reassemble in reverse order.

Scanner glass clean

Cleaning the glass is rather simple. Take the 2 screws under the cover out. Now gently lift the top part of the scanner (some force may be needed). Then the scanner is in 2 parts and the glass can be cleaned inside and outside with a wet wipe glass cleaning pad. Dry the glass with a towel and inspect the glass with a lamp, that no cleanser remains are left. Now install the scanner in reverse order.

The 3170 has a screw in each of the two slots where the lid inserts into the scanner. Remove the lid, remove these screws, and then the top portion of the scanner with the glass slides forward and off. Mine was stiff getting it off, but with some slight twisting and a bit of force it came off. You can then clean the glass.

USUALLY you have to flip them upside and remove 4 screws to split the scanner in half, sometime the screws are hidden under rubber feet on the bottom.

Some just snap together.
