Hello, you have a problem with the inlet valve or timer. hit the brew button and then once the water starts running through the brew cone pull the plug, if after a couple of minutes the brew stops your problem is going to be with the timer (you should replace it) if the brew does not stop at all then you have a problem with the inlet valve (it has a piece of calcium stuck in the valve) you should replace the valve kit in this instance. You can buy parts from either bunn or a company called holiday house in cali. if you have any further questions please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike

I just bought the Bunn VLPF series, double burner. My other Bunn coffee pot had the option of make a half pot of coffee but this one does not Is there a tip to follow for half a pot?

Sorry this brewer is usually set up for a full pot brew. I have reset this for a small (but not half) pot brew as the customer wanted to use a metal carafe (with their own logo). I also tried once to get it to half pot brew but it can get tricky if you actually brew twice to get a full pot (in the same pot).
* there is a siphon action that starts once the boiler tank gets filled to a certain point. From that point it will continue to flow until the boiler is emptied to the level that stops the siphon action and leaves enough water in boiler to reheat for the next brew. Achieving the siphon point may be a larger volume of water for 1/2 a pot but may work for 3/4ths a pot. The 1/2 way mark may be affected by the brewers "level" while placed on a table or sagging in the middle of a weak table.
* Usually if you want a smaller brew then go with a smaller brewer. Though there is a hot water tap that will give you 2-4 cups of hot water (it gets tepid after that) which you can use for the "Mug" style brew. But it does get messy.ukeboy57
* Final, If you don't mind a little more than 1/2 pot brews then ask your vendor to adjust the machine for you. Though a reminder NOT the double brew in the same pot as it will overflow.

On the lid on each end there is a flat head screw. Take out the screws and lift the lid off. I recommend unplugging unit first.

WE HAVE A BUNN VLPF SERIES COFFEE MAKER. WHEN YOU PUSH THE BUTTON TO MAKE A POT OF COFFEE, THE WATER DOESNT STOP AT ONE POT IT MAKES 6-7 BEFORE IT STOPS. IF YOU TURN OFF THE MACHINE WHEN THE DECANTER IS...

Sounds like your timer part #32400.0002.This is the new type timer which replaces the dial timer.Another thing is does this happen when you turn on the on/off switch? I would also check your liquid level probe in top of tank.Always a possibility bad liquid level board. If it only does this when you push the brew button the timer is bad.

My bunn vlpf coffee maker the water tank is overheating to the point of steam is spewing fro the air release tube... I'm thinking thermostat ?

You are correct. Also check the tank for lime.By unplugging and removing top of machine (2) screws and remove fill basin. You can then remove your t-stat probe to check. If it is lime up you can crack off the lime and reinstall it in the tank.If limed up I would suggest de-liming.T-stat part# 4314.0001.

We have a 2 month old bunn coffee maker. worked fine now coffee is taking 10 minutes to brew

Sounds like calcium build up, You need to descale the machine.

If you look at the grounds on the basket, After the brew cycle is over there is like a hole in the center of the grounds. This happens when there is calcium build up in the tank, tube and or spray head. And takes forever for the brew cycle to end.

Follow the instruction on your manual to descale the brewer.

Inave a Bunn VLPF coffee brewer, water is leaking out of the top of the heating tank when in the breweing cycle. I can seal it with some caulking, but is the top of the heating tank supose to be...

THe most likely answer is that the tube that leads to the sprayhead is clogged with lime. You will need to remove the spray head wich is located above the brew basket and make sure the holes are not clogged with lime. Use a wire brush to clear them. In the field I would use a deliming spring but you may need to go to a lowes or home depot to find a tool you can use to clear the tube wich is what the spray head screws onto or just goole deliming spring and try to order one off line. It is a long flecible very tightly wound dpring about 14 inches in length or so. www.midstaebeverage.com

I have a Bunn VPR, it brews fine for a couple pots

Try running a quarter-pot 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water through to clean out calcium deposits in the pump system. Use a clean filter to catch the pumped debris. When pumped through, let cool somewhat, and reuse the cold mixture again twice more. Pour out the vinegar solution and run several cold water loads through to wash out the taste. Hope this helps!

The water starts flowing for about a minute then stops for a minute then starts for a minute and continues that cycle until it fills the air pot and stops. I have cleaned all the filters in line, checked...

This sounds like normal operation of this type of unit.

Look at the brew funnel. is coffee coming out of it all the time during the brew cycle?

If so, then what you are hearing is the water supply solenoid cycling.

Overfilling

There is a timer located in the top of the machine. Take off the two screw and turn the timer down a little bit.
