Hello, you can solve this one of two ways. Try pushing a 9 when you get intercom line, you should get an outside line. So when you want to send a fax, just remember to push a 9, get outside dial tone then dial your number. Or, the second option would be to program that extension jack to auto select a line when going off hook. That will take a manual and some additional guidance. Okay, so thats for making outgoing calls. When it comes to incoming calls, you need to find out what extension the fax is connected to. You can do this by dialing another extension that has a display from the fax machine and see what intercom number comes up on the phones display. So once you know the extension number you can do one of two things. You can leave the fax off since it will most likely ring when any call comes in your office, and only turn it on when receiving a fax. When you answer the fax call on one of your other phones, and hear the beep beep beep, merely push transfer and dial the fax machines extension. That will transfer the incoming fax call to that extension and the fax machine provided you have it turned on. The other option is to break out the system manual(not user guide), and program the fax machines extension to only ring on the line you want it to, say your last line and leave the fax machine on and give out that specific number for faxes. But you do run the risk of your call traffic being heavy, incoming calls rolling over to that line or someone calling that number directly and getting the fax. I think I covered everything I can with the limited information on your application, so I hope that solved your problem.

Communication error 43 message every time and with every number.Panasonic fax kx-fhd332

COMMUNICATION ERROR (Code: 43, 44) means that "A line problem occurred". There might be a problem with the phone jack where your fax machine is connected to. Try to connect the telephone line cord to a different jack and try again.

Intellifax 4750e phone and fax line stays open, no dial tone

Is the fax machine on? (Are the lights or screen lit up?) Make sure that the line going from the fax machine to the wall jack is plugged into the LINE port on the fax machine, and not the TEL port.

Try plugging a regular phone into the wall jack where the fax machine is currently plugged in... do you get a dialtone? If so, the problem is either with the fax machine or the way it is configured.

I have no dial tone on my fax machine and i cant send or receive faxes

Remove the phone line from the back of the fax and connect a standard phone (not a business PABX or PAX system phone) to the line. Ensure dialtone is available. (Make sure in doing this that you are also testing the cable from the phone socket to the fax). If no dialtone, replace cable or fix line.

Check that the line is connected to the 'line' port on the fax, not the 'phone' port.

If still no dial tone, it may be modem fault (in the fax). Seek specialist attention.

do you have an alarm system....it will sound like a fax machine

No dial tone on my Lexmark X4270

There are two outlets in the back where you plug in your phone line. I had the same problem when I
was plugged into the far left plug (as you are facing the front of the all in one). I switched to the other
outlet and it worked fine. But still once in a while it seems to loosen up and I have to push it back in
farther. Today I got a dialtone but could not send a fax. I got a dialtone but still wouldn't send. So I
checked the outlet and sure enough, it was just loose enough to prevent the machine from registering
the fax number, but connected enough to get a dialtone.....go figure. Good luck

I have a hp fax 1010 problems sending receiving

Are you plugging the phone line into the line jack or the phone jack on the fax machine, it should plug in to line. Also try and unplug/replug the units power cord as well as trying a different phone jack location.

Voip phone is workin properly but when i try to send fax it shows comm error

Make sure the same dial tone you can talk on is plugged into your fax machine. Try plugging a plain old telephone into the wall jack your fax is plugged into. Until you hear dialtone in that jack, don't bother troubleshooting the fax any more.

My Panasonic FX-FL541 fax macnine is not working. The led display says 'ext. in use' and it won't let me do anything. The power is on and the phone jack is hooked up correctly toa fax line. HELP!

You may wanted to double check if the fax is connected to the phone jack and the cable modem. If it is, and it still doesn't fax... try pressing any key on the fax. Let me know if it works?

Panasonic KX-FM220 fax machine does have a dial tone

I would double check your phone cord. There is usually 2 jacks in the back of the fax machine. 1 is for Line, and 1 is for phone.
Your phone cord should be hooked up in the LINE jack that goes to the wall.
I would also double check your phone cord on another phone to make sure the cord is good.
If you look at the clear connector that you plug into your wall and fax machine, does it have 4 copper/gold color wires contacts imbedded in the clear plastic connector?

Another thing to try, if you fax machine has a Line and a Phone connector, try plugging in a phone in the PHONE connector. Then hook up another phone cord going from the LINE to the WALL jack.
If you get a dial tone on your Phone, then you know you have it connected correctly. If no dial tone, then I would go back to the phone cord.
check those things and get back to me and I will see if I can help you with more suggestions.
Good luck.
Mac =)
