Is anything plugged into the gen when you reset it?
If so unplug everything and try again.
If not, it is an internal problem with the inverter.

SOURCE: generator runs producing no power

Hi, remove the electric control panel & check the wiring as sometimes we have seen the wires coming off the voltage change over switches.
Also some of these units you can check the connections in the rear of the alternator & if it has brushes that they are not stuck.
Another problem we have had is the trip switches have went faulty but still switch operates ok, they need to be checked with a probe type tester for conductivety.

SOURCE: honda eu 6500 gen overload indicator light will not shut off

Check the Ground Fault Indicator circuit breaker for triping, and look for the high limit on generator. Reset the main breaker by triping it full right and then back. Vitally

SOURCE: Generator stopped producing electricity

if the generator has been sitting for a while you might have to excite the magnets to start producing power. plug in a reversible drill and with the generator running turn the drill in the reverse direction by hand while holding the trigger in the forward position.

SOURCE: generator runs, but produces no power

If it's still under warranty take it back to the retailer and tell them it quit working - don't offer any other information.

If you must fix the E/G yourself - On the generator there's a cover on the back; take the cover off so that the back of the windings are exposed. You should see 4 to 6 diodes mounted to the rotor and stator...those diodes are most likely burned out because of temperature failure, due to overload. You have to take them out to isolate them...they should read .6 Ohms one way; reverse the leads and they slhould read about 1.2 Ohms. If there shorted you'll read 0 Ohms and open infinety.

Anyway, replace those diodes and you should re-establish your field winding voltage which develops you A/C output.

Good Luck,
Mike...

Why my ryobi 2200 cant run a refrigerator?

The power demand of a refrigerator is too high for your 2200. You need something that can provide at least twice the power output of your 2200.

Generator runs great but produces no power

On Thursday last week I had 220 amp outlet being used and a 110 amp outlet being and overloaded the generator. It turned out to be the reset breakers failed to trip and blew the capacitor. The reset breakers I would suggest replacement after 7 years very easy to do on a 5500 Valsi generator 2010 model still running and now producing electric. And of course use only regular gas non Ethanol.

I have ix800 overload light is on wont produce power.what could be the problem?

Two things come to mind, (1) the unit is carrying too much of a load. Unplug everything and try again, and (2) the inverter assemble is defective and needs to be replaced (most likely cause if nothing is plugged in). (Still under warranty?)

RYOBI 1000w Digital inverter generator. ...will not start... we have followed the instructions provided and we cannot get the genny to fire up..... oil level is fine, switches on the correct position,,...

have had the same problem with a Ryobi 1000w invertor generator. The problem that you are experiencing is the low level oil switch. To confirm if this is the problem disconnet the low level oil switch (Yellow or Orange wire). Try and start the generator now, it should start with the first little tug on the recoiler. Once it is running, reconect the low level oil switch and see what happens then. Either it will cut out, then you know it is the oil level switch or it will continue running and the problem will go away. Please ensure you manually check the oil level first before starting.

Generator overload ?

Pulled the front off and blow it out with compressed air. Checked all the capacitors and then clean all the connectors. Once it's together, try again. If this does not help, it is possible the inverter has failed internally which means throwing the whole geni away.
