My HP PSC 1315 printer/scanner prints the test page every time I turn it on. A 2008 post from littlebluemuffi helped until now, but today it still printed the test pages.

Hi,

This usually happens if the printer is not aligned properly. When you replace the cartridges, it prints a colorful sheet of paper. You need to place the paper face down on scanner glass and press OK button.

This completes alignment and the printer wont print test page again.

Hi all, I have a F380 All in one from HP connected to a HP Pavillion w5540 with Windows XP SP3, and everything is working properly. However, when I hit the "scan button" it opens the utility software...

Do not hit the SCAN button. Instead, use the HP software, and click the "Align" button.
Follow the on-screen instructions (print the page, put the page into the scanner) very carefully.

Why does my HP 1500 prints a test page every time I begin touse it???

HI
As soon as the printer prints the test page or alignment page place it on the scanner glass (Place the printed side down) before that Examine the scanner glass and white scan backing. Clean the scanner glass and scan backing if they are not clean. To clean the scanner glass and scan backing, use a soft cloth towel slightly dampened with clean water.
After That press scan on the printer button panel it will resolve your issue.
Try to double check it by turning it off and turning the printer back on after 2 minute's. If still the problem exists call HP Total Care 800 - 474 - 6836 if you are from US/Canada.

Printer won't work manually.

Usually, you need to print a test page: go to start, settings, find printers and faxes and open it. You will see your printer. Right click on the printer and you will see a menu. Open Properties. Find General- there is a "print test page" button. Click on it. When the test page is printed, you will see some pictures: those are the steps you need to take to make your scanner/copier work. Basically, all you need to do is put the test page in your scanner (as indicated) and press scan. The scanner/copier will then do an alignment and you will be able to copy manually.

Printer prints a test page every time it is turned on.

Hi everyone

After replacing the print cartridges 2 steps need to be done:

1. Wait for the test page to be printed out and

2. Put a page over the scanner glass and press scan button on your

printer.

Turn off the printer and turn it on again to see if the problem was

solved.

Hi Siddarth

In HP PSC 1315 printer after replacing new Ink Cartridges the printer always prints Alignment test page every time you turn it ON.To resolve this problem you must complete the alignment process.

Steps

1.Turn the printer ON.
2.Once its ON, it will print the Alignment page. Place the page in the scanner bed correctly.
3.Then Press START SCAN button.
4.The power light will start blinking, wait until the power lights turns solid.
5.Now Alignment process is over.Discard the paper from scanner.
6.Turn the printer OFF and then ON, it will not print that page again.

Note:Please follow this steps every time when you replace the Cartridges.

Auto test page on the HP F 380

I don't know this personally, but you should be able to hit the power button and turn it off right after you load the cartridges. then power back on. That might do the trick.
