Press "menu"
the setup screen should open
scroll through the options to "16:9 enhanced"
you should find 2 options ("on" and "auto")
choose "auto"
that should do it
enjoy.....
did some google searching: turns out DTV is another type of input (like DVD and cable) and is defined as Direct TV...
So, (according to the manual) whatever label your TV puts on the screen defines how it recognizes the input you are applying...
So, since i guess you probably aren't using DTV, then you need to tell the TV otherwise
Here are your new marching codes ;D
press "menu"
the setup screen should open
scroll through the options to "Video Label"
scroll through (video 1~7) --> depends on what input video you're using(for cable i recommend 1~4)
then choose between a set of options (DVD, cable box, .......etc) and try them one by one until you get it right and the picture is like you hoped...
:D

Fasacosta....thanks for your quick reply. I tried the set up menu. However the option you suggest 16:9 enhanced is "greyed out", meaning i cant select it to do anything with it. Other options in setup are functional. Just the 16:9 enhanced can not be accessed.
Also, maybe this could help, but the top left hand of the screen always says DTV. Thanks, Nicole
