Test with an external monitor. if you see video, then your laptop screen is bad. if you don't see video, then your video card or motherboard is bad.
bull
even a dead RTC coin cell dead can and will make the screen dead, newer PCs do that.
to avoid hacking, is the reasons, UEFI rules etc. so will CCFL back lamps dead !
so will 2008 PC with now dead GPU chip the solderball plegue. wiki it.
worse yet the external port is dead by default and blind users then has to push 2 keys to get it to go live, blind.
good luck telling them how but the manual on OPs untold PC covers that.
NO PC told is never going to help you ever.
endless posts here go nowhere at all for that fact. we can not guess what is in your hand.

SOURCE: Lenovo S10 Series Turns on But The Screen Stays Black?
Take out your battery and hold down the power button for 60secs... This will release any excess charge built up in the machine.Put the power back on but without the battery, just plug the adapter and if it turns on then you know what's wrong. You need a new battery.Make your laptop light.Make sure you don't have anything attached to the Laptop and then restart. It could also be your hardware [motherboard, graphics card, screen] problem,if you can,try tightening the screen connection from inside. If that also doesn't solve the problem then you need to go to the company service center.
