Most folks don't know this and its not in the manual, but their is a small battery on the bottom of the console. right under the front side. You will need a small phillips Xsmall screw driver to open it....I believe its a size 2020 battery.....worked for me....

You plug in the DDR Controller in the GameCube controller slots on the Wii system.
The GameCube controller slots should be on top of the Wii. It should be inside a small door you can open if you haven't used it.
