Their may be something in the line, leading to the pump restricting the flow to the pump.

There are a few things that could cause this, first of all check the lid switch. That is a safety thing that makes sure the lid is closed before it allows it to start washing or spinning. Some other culprits could be a clogged filter, or a broken belt ( if your model has a belt) does the machine sound like its trying to wash? or does it just turn off and do nothing like its dead? if it seems dead its more than likely the lid switch, they are about $40 and simple to replace.

check the drain pump isnt blocked. there is a panel at the bottom front of the machine. remove this and unscrew the round cap and look for a jam. turn off machine first! move the propellers with you fingers. if its ok it should turn a quart of a turn then race forward some

It should be fine but I'm not sure how it will work with the 220v. Be sure that the power there is 110v red to white and 110v black to white. If the power is not, it probably won't work. Good luck
