Hello My p800 after i did all the manual says under the sound and alerts i click on find melody and its not giving me any option only all eventhough i created a folder and put all my audio into it.pls help me

  • Press Menu.
  • Scroll to Settings and press the Navigation key.
  • Scroll to Profiles and press the Navigation key.

CUSTOMIZING YOUR PHONE SOUNDS

the samsung sync is a pretty good phone with many options of customization available. problem is, most are hidden. heres how to access them:


1. open phone, and push the side key under the memory card slot. [alternatively, just get to the PROFILE option. in that case, skip 2]

2. scroll over to the 'PROFILE' setting

3. highlight the 'NORMAL' setting, and push the 'OPTIONS' key.

4. go to 'EDIT'. push 'CALL ALERT' and you get a wealth of options.

i will map them out for you too lazy to look through everything:

How can i set message tone in samsung champ?

Its quite simple. Just follow some steps:
Go to settings>Sound Profiles>If you have selected "Normal Profile" the open it>
Now last second option is "Message Alert Tone"> select it, then a menu will be displayed>
Now either you can select "Default Melodies" or "Sound" menu.
Default Melodies----It is for default sms tones provided by Samsung
Sounds----It will show you the menu which contains all the melodies saved by you in mobile.
now select the melody which you want.

Editing the Normal - Message Profile 1.Touch >Settings > Sound Profile >Normal. •Touch the name field and not the radio button to the right. 2.Touch drop-down menu (upper-right of the screen) and selectMessage. 3.Touch the Message Alert Type field, select one of the following and touchSave: • Melody: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Ring tone menu. • Vibration: the phone vibrates 3 times. •Vibration & Melody: the phone vibrates and plays a melody simultaneously. • Mute: the phone is silent and does not play a melody or vibrate. 4.Touch the Message Alert Tone field, touch to select a ringtone and touchSave. 5.Touch the Message Alert Repetition pull-down and select one of the following options and touchSave: • Once: repeats the message alert once. • Periodic: repeats the message alert periodically. 6.Drag the Alert Tone Volume slider to the volume level you desire (range is 1-7). 7.Touch the Vibration Pattern field, then touch to select Vibration 1 - 3. 8.TouchSave to return to the Sound Profiles menu

Sound Settings
You can customize various sound settings.
Incoming call
Note: When downloading MegaTones® or HiFi RingersTM, charges may apply.

Ringtone.
This menu allows you to select a ring melody. Highlight Ringtone and press . Use the Up or Down key to highlight a ring tone or press the Left or Right key to select a file from either the Default Melodies, Voice list, or Sounds folders. Press the Select soft key.

Volume

This menu allows you to adjust the ring volume to one of 7 levels plus Silent mode and Vibration mode.
  • Use the Right or Left key to increase or decrease the volume.

Alert type
This menu allows you to specify how inform you of incoming calls. Use the Right or Left key to select an Alert type.
The following options are available:
- Melody: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Ringtone menu.
- Vibration: the phone vibrates but does not ring.
- Melody and vibration: the phone rings and vibrates simultaneously.
- Vibration then melody: the phone vibrates three times and then starts ringing.
- Melody then vibration: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Ringtone menu and then vibrates.

Message tone
This menu allows you to set up the ringer for incoming messages. You can set the Tone, Alert type, and Repetition.
  • Use the Up or Down Navigation keys to make your selections.

Keypad tone
This menu allows you to select a Beep or a Xylophone for your Keytone and to select the Volume (0-7) that the
phone sounds when you press a key.

The Sound Profile only covers call sounds.
Sound Profiles
This menu allows you to specify how you are informed of
incoming calls.
Selecting a Profile
1. Touch ➔ Settings ➔ Sound Profile.
2. Touch the radio button next to the profile name. The
selected profile activates. Choices include:
• Normal
• Silent
• Driving
• Outdoor
Normal Profile
The phone’s profile defaults to Normal. Use the following
procedures to change the profile.
Editing the Normal - Call Profile
1. Touch ➔ Settings ➔ Sound Profile ➔ Normal.
• Touch the name field and not the radio button to the right.
2. Touch drop-down menu (upper-right of the screen) and
select Call.
3. Select the Call Alert Type field and select one of the

I want the keytone to be silent - how do I set it to silent?

Hello,

You have to do the following:

Sound Profile
You can customize various sound profiles for your phone by
changing the sound settings.
1. In Idle mode, press the Menu soft key and select Settings
➔ Sound Profile.
2. Highlight one of the following sound profiles:
• Normal
• Silent
• Driving
• Outdoor
3. Press the Edit soft key to access the sound settings.
4. Press the Change soft key to change the "phone" option.

• To move between the various tabs, use the Left and Right Navigation
keys.
• To highlight individual options, use the Up and Down Navigation keys.
• To change the setting for a highlighted option, press Change ( ).


There you have these options:

– Keypad Tone: allows you to choose between Beep, Xylophone, and
Mute (no tone) for keystrokes on the phone.
– Power On Type: allows you to select the way in which the selected alert
is played when the phone is powered on.
• Melody: the phone sounds the selected melody.
• Vibration: the phone vibrates.
• Vibration & Melody: the phone vibrates and also plays the
melody.
• Mute: the phone neither vibrates nor plays a ringtone. The only
indication of a message is an alert on the display.

5. Press the Save soft key when you are finished.

Normal Profile
To access the available options for this sound profile, press the
Edit soft key.
• To move between the various tabs, use the Left and Right Navigation
keys.
• To highlight individual options, use the Up and Down Navigation keys.
• To change the setting for a highlighted option, press Change ( ).
• To save your changes, press the Save soft key.

This should do it.

Setting a tone for text messages

This is easy. I don't mean to sound arrogant, sorry. follow these instructions: press the menu button/ go to/in settings/ the first tab is phone profiles/ press select/ options/ edit/ you will see three tabs at the top right of the screen, the phone with a speaker tab is highlighted/ go right one to the txt mssge icon, enter message alert type and choose the melody option, press o.k/ go down one section to the "message alert tone, press the options key/ change/ use my alert tone, this opens your files/ press right once to select memory card and choose the folder with the melody you want to use in it/ when you've highlighted the melody press options/ select. Next scroll down the page for the volume settings/ select whatever. You have now chose the melody for txt mssges. finally press options save. Job done. I know this is what you wanted. Good luck.
